  1. Damn. Friday's the only day we're not going. How were they in Chicago? Also, what did you think of Eldridge & Lage?
  2. That sucks. Best wishes & good luck with the insurance company.
  3. Well, I guess I wasn't the only one wondering. I even considered starting a thread. I can't imagine they'd go to the trouble and expense of having Brendan Canty & crew film the whole thing without there being some sort of release planned. I wish they'd hurry up & release it!
  4. Hey, my CD & t-shirt came in the mail today along with the new Fretboard Journal. There's some guitar geekery on the horizon!
  5. I have it ordered. Wish they were playing a bit closer to me.
  6. Yeah, it's an excellent documentary.
  7. If any of you (particularly guitarists) get the chance, do not miss these guys. What an amazing performance. Super nice guys, too. After the show I approached Julian to buy a CD. We got talking music & guitars (surprise!) and he invited me into the dressing room to check out his '39 Martin. He handed it to me to try. I had to play guitar with Julian & Chris watching me. No pressure there, huh? He also let me try a very odd and unique Parker guitar. But I digress... Go see these guys!
  8. Finally saw it last night. Excellent.
  9. Wow, that should be interesting. His songs in Dr Dog are usually my faves.
  10. Hi! Enjoy yours too! Thanks! And I second your "get well soon".
  11. I have a strong feeling that Beck will be added. Seems like he's doing every other festival. Dr. Dog would be a great addition, and they're free around then too.
  12. I paid $99 for the Americanarama tour last summer. That's way more than I'd usually pay for a single concert, but I wasn't going to miss Wilco or MMJ. When artists (and it's always artists who are already obscenely wealthy) start charging hundreds of dollars for tickets, I lose all respect for them. It's a slap in the face of the people who've supported them for years, or even decades. The irony is that by the time they get to the point of overcharging, their creative peak is long past.
  13. No to both, but I'll fix that. Thanks!
  14. According to NFF, he'll be doing his solo set. I imagine he'll go on right before Mavis. I'm sure he'll be joining her onstage too. I was already excited for NFF. Now I'll be counting the days...
  15. Chris Eldridge & Julian Lage (Old Saybrook, CT) The Milk Carton Kids (Boston) Newport Folk Festival Mark Mulcahy (New London, CT) Hopefully the list will grow.
  16. Duff definitely doesn't need the money. He's a very smart businessman, and from what I hear he's made a lot of good investments.
  17. I wish I could have. It's not even showing near me 'til next weekend, as far as I know.
  18. That's a damned lie! They also spend a lot of time fighting affordable health care. Spot on post, man. Seriously.
  19. Cool! We'll have to get a Newport thread going at some point.
