  1. Evoo has been great each time I've been there. great drinks, great food, great service, and great Wilco fans. I read some mixed reviews on Yelp, but our experiences have been consistently excellent. I remember Jeff doing the dinner giveaway for Craigie on Main at the Orpheum Evening With Wilco show. A buddy does business with that restaurant, so I knew they were also doing the backstage catering that night. Same the summer before at Harborlights, Jeff gave at least a shoutout to Craigie on Main.
  2. I'm sure you'll do better than this, off my camera phone at One Eyed Jacks last year during JazzFest
  3. I just called HOB for set times, she said she'll have them around 3:00, I'll post them here, but if you get them first and can do the same that would be great. I assume you're shooting tonight? Looking forward to seeing some good shots of Stanton!
  4. Hey Tim, going with my wife tonight, so I got stadium seats. She doesn't like to stand all night (although she did fine for Shorty a couple weeks ago). A (small) price to pay for me. Anyway, having seats makes it easier for both of us to be there for Charles Bradley, who I was told not to miss.

  6. Hey linclink, I notice you're also keeping the Wilco topic alive on the Hoffman Forum. This is weird. I didn't do too much research on this, but just looking at the credits for WTA, I didn't notice anything that would differentiate that release from others. But there has to be something legal going on with the royalties.
  7. That's an excellent book, I highly recommend it. Aren't there also Uncle Tupelo or Son Volt references?
  8. Good call. I don't know if it's the "most" underrated tune, will have to think about that some more, but I believe it to be a very underrated and under appreciated song by the Wilco cognoscenti (as far as I can tell). Always sounds great in every live version I've seen or heard.
  9. Good question, I didn't include his intro to the series. He only reviewed the DP's up through and including 1974, which he wrote is the period that most interests him. So you don't see reference to any DP's from '76 on.
  10. Sure, take it with a grain of salt, or many grains. I just love the passion. And wish I had the time to listen, let alone to listen, compare and compose. Sent from my Windows Phone using Tapatalk
  11. Thanks for the tip about The Fine Print. Spend some time this weekend watching this 2011 concert, don't know how representative this is of the band or its current incarnation, but I'm having fun with it. Really looking forward to seeing these guys for the first time.
  12. Derek wants to go out in a blaze of glory http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/derek-trucks-says-hell-end-allmans-run-in-a-full-blaze-of-glory-20140203
  13. Yes, that transition into Sugar Mag is one of my favorites, one of the best organic transitions I've heard. There's another one in this class I used to have on cassette many years ago, never got it digitally, from St. Paul, '73 or '74 I think, a transition from Here Comes Sunshine to China Cat that is equally jawdropping.
  14. DP 8 is a classic. Acoustic and electric. Let me clarify, the DP analysis is what it says it is, just the Dick's Picks. There are any number of official GD/Rhino releases that are likely still available, not out of print, that are very worthy. You may want to start with Europe '72, Vol. 2, which came out a year or 2 ago as a companion to the original release. All different songs. For the time period you referred to, '69-72, you may also find Ladies and Gentlemen (Fillmore East April '71), or the Fillmore West '69 set, or any of the Europe '72 tour releases, such as Steppin Out, Rockin
  15. Williamstown Inn, is that different than the Williams Inn, which is definitely taking bookings as both my friend and I have confirmed reservations. http://www.williamsinn.com/
  16. There's a topic on the Hoffman Music Forum recently started that may be particularly suited to your question. It's a lot to read through, but a good place to start: http://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/embarking-on-a-grateful-dead-journey-all-purpose-thread.339154/ In that topic, one writer did a nice synopsis of the DIck's Picks series, which I keep accessible on my phone when trolling the record store. This may be more info than you bargained for. Dick's Picks, Vol. 1: 12/19/73 Tampa: The first DP was greeted by fans with a collective "....huh?" when it came out. Lesh was very inv
  17. Tonight at a restaurant in Kendall Square, Cambridge, EVOO. As I walked in, Leave Me Like You Found Me was playing, immediately followed by Art of Almost. Our waitress came to take our drink order and of course I said something along the lines of "I just heard back to back Wilco songs here," she said the owner-chef and his wife are big fans, they play Wilco there all the time. The wife came over and chatted with us, they are 2 time Solid Sound vets with their young children, huge Wilco fans. I told her I am coming back frequently. Sent from my Windows Phone using Tapatalk
  18. 1. She Loves You 2. Tomorrow Never Knows 3. Day Tripper Got to go, saving my last 2 picks for later.
  19. My friends and I booked rooms at Williams Inn. They have rooms.
  20. I assume you got the cd? From what I can tell, the vinyl version doesn't have any extras, just wondering if that's correct.
