You don't have to refrain on my account. I don't take anything like that personally. -

And one of the highlights for me was the last segment about his love of the Grateful Dead. I guess I sort of knew that from his acoustic covering of Wharf Rat, and from listening to Cold Roses (which got Phil's attention), but I've never heard him speak of it so that was very cool for me. -
Totally appreciated that. Wharf Rat as his entree! Very cool, excellent interview overall.

So many good ones just recently: Derek Trucks, Robbie Robertson, Obama, Isbell and then Patterson Hood the next pod (which are from 2014 but I just found on YouTube) -
Thanks for the 2-13-70 anniversary reminder! One of the first tapes I got all those many years ago, and still one of the best of them all. I was just about to put on a Prince Spotify playlist, but switching gears to 2-13-70

The oddest things that happened to you at a concert

I always get a kick out of hearing about TMBG and John Linnell. I moved to Boston in August 1979. One of my to be new friends moved here at the same time from Providence, and he was hip to this RI new wave band called The Mundanes. We ended up seeing them lots of times around the Boston-Cambridge club scene over the next several years. They were fun, and some good poppy fun tunes, and they had Marcia, who we all had a crush on. And they had this guy on keys, John Linnell. Always amazed me that out of that band, John was the one and only who went on to greater rock n roll fame. https://en.wi -
Note-Sunday at 9:00 with no opener. A great night for a Rock Show in Boston!

Yeah, I knew that had to be the Chili Peppers, but I could not recognize Flea's face or head. I see Chad, and I knew that had to be Flea in that mid-air pose, but boy he looks different.

Exene? An alt-righter nut job. I also had no idea. Maybe I'll have to stop seeing X, and just see John solo. I went to college in St. Louis, spent many nights inside Mississippi Nights. Likely before your time Pop Todd. -

I'm sure I have many, but here's the first one to comes to mind. On March 25, 1994, I got to sit onstage for the second set of the Grateful Dead show at Nassau. Behind Vince and just to the left of Garcia, and right next to Hornsby who played accordion that night. I have cousins in SF, and they became friends with Bob Bralove, so starting around '91 whenever the Dead came to Boston, Bralove would set me up with passes and tickets and I'd often catch him for a drink after the show (they always stayed at the Four Seasons in Boston). For this Nassau show, my wife and I either drove down to LI o -
Sounds great, can't wait

Happy anniversary! I often mark the anniversaries of memorable GD shows, always fun to remember and helps me decide what to listen to that day. And hey, "feeling old" can be just a state of mind. Listening to the Dead keeps me feeling young, whatever the calendar says!

Great. Working or recreating?

Yes! Very psyched for next week's Rock Show in Boston.

I always say it, but the audio quality on these HDCD releases is phenomenal. Still haven't gotten to D3. I will need to find time alone at home to be able to blast it through the system at concert level volumes
