  1. Today's SS email notes 185 days until SS and says lineup to be announced in the New Year. I guess that's sort of stating the obvious at this point, but still something to take note
  2. In the R.E.M. topic, there was a reference to a fan bulletin board and who was on it back in the day. Which has me asking here if anyone was on the WELL? I was there for many years, back before the WWW when you had to know DOS commands. I was "bigwheel."
  3. I watched the End of the Year As We Know It clip, well done. I have such a hard time looking at Stipe with that beard. My wife hasn't seen him in a long time and couldn't believe it. Not in a good way. Damn, I was not aware. I was spending lots of time on the WELL.
  4. I don't recall if there's a separate JRAD topic, but they released a soundboard of the Boston House of Blues show for download and stream. I can assure you it was a barn burner (but aren't they all). Worth downloading. https://archive.org/details/jrad2016-12-02.cmc621.cmc641vxt.sbd.matrix.flac24
  5. There are a couple of musical pieces in my life that always put me in a good mood no matter how bad I may be feeling at the time. This is #1 for me. Never fails.
  6. Since that original post, I will add the two Tedeschi Trucks Band shows and the JRAD show. All 3 were excellent.
  7. Yes, Neil and Promise of the Real in the rain on Sunday afternoon was amazing. All 2 1/2 hours. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. I miss The Channel. So many incredible nights spent inside that place. I go by there now, it's an open air parking lot, get tears in my eyes! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. Ha! I thought I was losing my mind! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. Agree. Real Estate and Richard Thompson were the only bands other than Wilco and Tweedy for me.
  11. Another one I had no idea. This is an education. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. Damn, I'm going to be on a plane. Getting tix has never been an issue in the past, but I want the early birds.
  13. Same here with all those listed GD tunes. Add to that list for me, Man Smart Woman Smarter and Hey Pokey Way. (I was at the GD debut of Iko in St. Louis). I doubt there are any Dylan/Beatles/Stones covers they did I hadn't heard the originals of.
  14. First single released here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-qfQcJveDw
  15. Keeping track of the tweets, on 12/5 Solid Sound tweeted "200 days until Solid Sound-Stay Tuned" Staying tuned I am
  16. All those Hot Tuna covers of Rev. Gary Davis, Jr. songs
  17. Great. I hope that's followed by some U.S. tour dates. Been over 2 years since he's been in Boston.
  18. I saw them a number of times on their own and as an opener back in the day. "Pylon played their first live show at a party on March 9, 1979.[5] Members of The B-52's attended Pylon's third show. Fred Schneider and Kate Pierson of the B-52's were particularly supportive and helped promote Pylon's music in New York City, getting them a gig at Hurrah.[6]Soon Pylon opened for Gang of Four in New York. Pylon's debut single, "Cool," appeared on DB Records in early 1980, and received many positive critical reviews. From 1980 to 1983 Pylon toured parts of the U.S., Canada, and the UK, playing with
  19. Same. Add to my list, I knew Boogie On Reggae Woman from seeing Jerry Garcia and Merle Saunders many times in the early-mid '70"s. It wasn't until years later I learned that's a Stevie Wonder song. Most likely a bunch of Phish heads out there who heard that song first at a Phish show.
  20. I heard Roses Are Free by Phish (many times) before I learned it is a Ween song Speaking of Me and Bobby McGee, I'm pretty sure I first heard that from the Grateful Dead
  21. Thursday and Saturday for me also. Both excellent shows, Soul Sacrifice to end the second set Saturday was killer. Derek did Little Martha intro into Midnight in Harlem. Friday's set list had a lot of covers I wanted to hear, but I can't complain as I was at JRAD that night. Another phenomenal show from those guys. By buddy has a very good recording of Thursday up at bt.etree. He's bob100. Also has the first set Saturday, but something went wrong with his rig for the second set. I dont' think he has anything from Saturday up yet. Lots of good videos of the Saturday show here: http://www.
