  1. You haven't done that yet?? Hurry up before their entire haul is either eaten or strategically hidden around the house!!
  2. Never cared much at all for her music, but at least her assholeishness made her somewhat amusing in a car-wreck sort of way. That said, bravo to her for cleaning herself up.
  3. This theme rocks. Can we keep this as an option year-round?
  4. 19th Nervous Breakdown - Rolling Stones Answers To Your Questions - Loose Fur Pulpin' Line - The Mermen This House Is Not For Sale - Ryan Adams Shoot the Offshoot - New Bomb Turks I'm Not Allowed - Buffalo Tom August - Avail Talkin' About You - Ray Charles Louder Than a Bomb - Public Enemy Ten Dollar High - Medski, Martin & Wood
  5. Yeah, I got up one morning and somebody told me the Cards had won the World Series and my response was "Oh crap, that was last night?? I thought it was an off day." That's how closely I followed the Series this year, I guess. The only game I watched in its entirety was the poo-hand game.
  6. There would not be an unburnt couch left in the city of Columbus. Greatest. Month. Ever.
  7. If this were to happen, they should cancel the bowl game and just let the Nov 18 game decide it. (this won't happen, obviously) Or, if they insist on playing the rematch and each team beats each other once, they should play another game for a "best 2 out of 3".
  8. In case you are looking for something to restore your faith in American theater... (my co-worker recommends the "splatter-zone")
  9. In general, you don't want to play VaTech on a Thursday night. I'm sure they weren't too happy about their performance against BC a couple weeks ago and wanted to make up for it.
  10. I don't see this happening. The whole reason the OSU/UM matchup is a big deal is that it is a do-or-die game. And in a rivalry like this, few things are sweeter than earning a shot at national glory by beating your archrival, or by denying their chance for the same. To do both at the same time is a bonus. This game is about bragging rights for the next 50 years or so.(or at least until this situation happens again)
  11. Where I come from, football players only get in real trouble after they've gone so far over the edge that there is no longer any conceivable explanation for why they keep self-destructing.
  12. True. Hey, I'm all in favor of Rutgers putting together a good program. I just hope those Jersey recruits don't start deciding to stay home! That state has been a prime recruiting spot for the Big Ten for ages.
  13. ...this makes me feel old because I still think he looks weird without an A's uni on.
  14. I dunno, in Rush's case, I bet he wishes that more people would suggest his own pill prolem was imaginary.
  15. Yeah, the Northeast is hardly a hotbed of college football mania. I'm in CT, where they have at least been making a genuine attempt to drum up support for the UConn program, but in all honesty, basketball is the only college sport that gets much attention around here. The brightside to the lack of college football in the northeast is that it generally means that there is a lot of Big Ten coverage on TV, so more often than not I've been able to watch most OSU games.(even in years when they're not a national contender) So I dunno, the emergence of Rutgers (and BC turning into a consistent wi
  16. A bunch of teams that used to beat them on a consistent basis until this year.
  17. Still my favorite Wilco album...and it has gotten better with age, imo. I still remember having to go to a couple different record stores the day it came out to find one that had it in stock.(remember those days??)
  18. Indeed. Interestingly, tho, I didn't care for most of that album and really haven't followed them since. Still love me some CVB from time to time, tho. Ummm...good Cracker songs I can think of off the top of my head: Teen Angst I See the Light Get Off This Take Me Down to the Infirmary Sick of Goodbyes Eurotrash Girl* (love it, but it gets old after too many listens) Big Dipper
  19. The entire Nick Cave catalog. I've got his Murder Ballads album playing right now...
  20. I just checked my iPod to see what the original version I had was--it was an early solo-acoustic version, I think--I seem to have deleted it. To me, I always thought that version was rather lifeless. But I also know I'm in the minority on that. I can see not liking the studio version--its pretty subdued and atmospheric, but I dig it. Whatever.
  21. I must admit, I've been in a bit of a political-burnout mode through most of this campaign season and, for the sake of my own sanity, I've been largely tuning out. Not to say that I'm not excited for election day, but its the day-to-day speculation and obsessing about it without having an actual outlet (like voting) that I'm done with. Here in CT, the marquee race is obviously the Lieberman/Lamont thing. Its been billed nationally as some kind of a bellweather or a changing-of-the-guard kind of thing, and yeah, it will be interesting to see what happens, but lately I personally don't seem
  22. I think the poop-hand is just a symbolic reminder of the Tigers' recent history. A "keep one foot in the gutter" kind of thing.
  23. I'm not particularly swayed by all the hemming and hawing from the SEC this season about how "unwinnable" their situation is because of how good their league is. What I see in the SEC right now is several very, very good teams, but none that are clearly head and shoulders above the pack...and that's why I'm still not convinced that the SEC will send a team to play for the championship. And its funny, because I can remember making that exact same argument in other years when the Big Ten was much more evenly-loaded than it is right now (and I'm sure its true of any league in any year when t
  24. I like the studio version much better than the acoustic version I had heard before that.
