  1. I think it's more so the above. I was also not aware of the dollar bill ad and, quite frankly, think that McCain needs to re-evaluate his strategy. There is an element of the 'celebrity' status that they'd be stupid not to incorporate to throw some distrust on the part of Mr. and Mrs. Heartland into the mix...as I do think that widespread hollywood endorsements can indeed backfire in context to a certain subset of the population...but the McCain campaign seems to be taking it to such an extreme it comes off as silly and grasping at straws.
  2. please, if you didn't catch it yesterday, go over to comedy central's website and watch the opening clip from last night's daily show. 'OBAMA'S GIANT BLACK BALLS!' i'm a litttle dissapointed that he took what could loosely be called 'the bait', but (for the record) while i'm a supporter...i hardly think the guy is or will ever be perfect. bobtothebob, we ain't all blind supporters.
  3. classic! i'll try and compile something to add to this list in december. suffice to say i've dug the releases from black francis, beck, giant panda, sloan, M83, foals, black keys, bob mould and helio sequence...plus this new westy is pretty tasty at first listen.
  4. yep. i saw that. seriously...i'd pay the $, but i also need to hear this album.
  5. totally missed this and now it seems i can't DL from amazon...sounds like it's pretty sweet too. thoughts?
  6. i have had the original casino royale w/ peter sellers and david niven and be kind rewind sitting at home via netflix for almost a month now. i need to stop wishing and watch them both.
  7. yeah, i saw that too...seems like a great fit. after finishing new frontier, i grabbed those TPB's of his run on catwoman...those were a lot of fun too. nobody does retro/noir better for me right now. still have yet to check out his work on the spirit stuff, but it's on the list. BTW, my local shop is having a 2-week anniversary sale, so i finally picked up the bizarro comics TPB that matt groennig did the cover for. fucking hilarious stuff and made me wish i would have nabbed that tee you picked up at WW. along those lines, did you ever read... same sort of deal, w/ different indie/ou
  8. yeah, i keep seeing stuff in wizard, etc. about it. like is aid earlier, i'll wait until a TPB comes out...but will definitely check it out. while checking out the artist tables at wizard world, i happened upon Alberto giving some dude a little sneak peek of the limited edition darwyn cooke art book at brandstudio press table. i overheard him talking that darwyn wanted to sell it only as a san diego comicon exclusive, but they have some copies avail via the website:
  9. no journey-related technology will ever top the bally journey video game, table top version (of course)...
  10. beercan devil's haircut milk and honey tropicalia cold brains golden age e-pro gamma ray chemtrails youthless i dig a lot more than that, but my attention span only allows me to list things in tens.
  11. for the record, loved it. best comic book based movie ever and my favorite of the summer, if not year. BTW, did everybody catch the hint at at least one of the next bad guys for the next flick should there be one?
  12. done and i'll pm you later about that funeral (i'm legitimately sorry, but still have to hear about walgreens guy).
  13. one afternoon, i sat out on the deck overlooking the lake in my boxers, drank almost an entire six pack of boulevard wheat ale w/ lemon slices, read several black panther comic books and listened to a classic rock/neo-prog* mix consisting of yes, rush, boston, kansas, etc. it may have been the jewel of the entire week. *the later stuff that a-man doesn't like.
  14. i missed posting a completely unfunny 'kansas - carry on my wayward son' response in your boston thread, so we're even. btw, i put on 'q: are we not men?' for the boys and their two cousins while all the moms were out shopping and they fucking tore shit up, man.
  15. thanks everybody! just got back home today and have two more days off from work. i'll just say i got TWO dookie chains and i'm still a little chubby from m.chris calling me a DILF. act like you know. stickem! BTW, that batman flick was unbelievable and i love starbucks so much i'd stick my **** in a cup of it if one was in front of me right now. and it wasn't too hot. or iced.
  16. you just blew my mind. a rap city shout-out would have been enough.
  17. this is good point...while he may feel himself introverted in a larger capacity, i too can state he is not like that when you meet him at all. one of the friendliest cats you'll ever wanna' meet.
  18. cool. man, that kirby run on black panther blew my fucking mind as a kid. i must of read that single first issue he did forwards and backwards 100 times.
  19. contrary to the charchter i play here on the web, i can be extremely introverted and have become even more so over the past few years. i blame my children.
