  1. Just bought it but won't get to listen to it until tonight ...
  2. Love them Feelies. One of my favorite and weird Feelies moments was when they were on Letterman years ago. They didn't have the whole band; they had Glenn Mercer and Bill Million playing guitars and singing with Letterman's band but they also had Dave Weckerman playing tambourine. After they played, Letterman came over and said (and I am paraphrasign here) "if things get tough in the world of the Feelies and you need to have some layoffs, I think I know where to start" and he nodded over at Weckerman. And then it was incredibly awkward for everyone. Does anyone have Mercer's solo album
  3. There are two songs on Dinosaur Jr.'s You're Living All Over Me (I think Kracked followed by Sludgefeast). On vinyl there is this squall of feedback that connects the two, and it was removed on the first CD version. I'm not sure it made it to the reissues.
  4. They are available on Amazon if you are willing to pay. Crazy Rhythms is between $29 and $69.
  5. Good news: The Red Sox didn't lose any ground yesterday Bad news: The Yankees have played .657 ball since May 29. That's pretty sick ...
  6. Exactly - it's a nice combination of the first two. My favorrite? I don't know. The first three are all great and it sort of depends on what I am in the mood for.
  7. The Good Earth is a little more acoustic and lush when compared to the first one (Crazy Rhythms) which is sort of jittery and electric.
  8. Good luck. I think all their stuff is out of print. (But feel free to PM me ...)
  9. Yeah, they are definitely one of my all-time favorites. Years ago when I moved to New York they had just gotten back together for the Good Earth and I was able to see them a whole bunch. They were great live.
  10. Thirded. There is a great scene in Something Wild where Jeff Daniels and Melanie Griffith take off driving, and Slipping Into Something is playing.
  11. Now made that much better with the introduction of Loni Anderson.
  12. 6-1 Jays (and the Yankees are winning). I think I am going to be sick. As someone who came of baseball age as a Red Sox fan around 1978 I didn't think it could get much worse that that ...
  13. Next time is the day after tomorrow ...
  14. A friend just called and asked if I wanted to go to the show in Boston on Friday night.
  15. Ummm. Yes. I suppose that might be right.
  16. Yup. It's pretty stunning what a disaster he has been. I don't think anyone expected the Gagne of old, but he had an ERA of just over 2.00 (and 16 saves) when they got him and his ERA while on the Sox is 9.00.
  17. I am sort of weird about the Band. I do like them (particularly the first two albums) and I love Dylan, but somehow the stuff they did together (Basement Tapes, Before the Flood) has never done it for me. I know I am in the minority here - and it has really been years since I have listened to either one - so maybe I need to give them another try.
  18. That is a great record. I remember seeing them right when that came out. They introduced about half the songs by saying "this is a song about farming equipment."
  19. I have liked some of his other writing but this didn't do much for me.
