I'm a big fan of that album.

Ha! I saw his original tweet and didn't think much of it. And then later in the day I started seeing all of these feral hogs tweets ...
-
Me too! I love Capacity but for some reason never picked this up until yesterday.
-
I only did once but definitely lots of people did. Logistically it was a drag. People filing out while others are lining up outside. And some percentage of those filing out were only going far enough to get back in line.

It was the early show. https://jerrygarcia.com/show/1980-07-25-orpheum-theater-boston-ma/ The early/late thing was a bit of a bummer, particularly when they would just announce one show and then later add in a late show (rather than a second night). And I agree on Ozzie's playing. I like it on this show, particularly on Tangled.

Last night was the 39th anniversary of my first concert ever - Jerry Garcia Band (with Dr John opening). The version of Tangled Up in Blue from that night is one of my favorite live music memories.

Oooh good one. One of my faves.

Lots of mystery of Replacements social media pages but it looks like a box set of ‘Don’t Tell a Soul’ alternate mixes & outtakes is coming out. Not sure I need the whole thing but "If Only You Were Lonely (feat. Tom Waits)" could be great. http://www.brooklynvegan.com/the-replacements-appear-to-be-releasing-a-box-set-of-dont-tell-a-soul-alternate-mixes-outtakes/?fbclid=IwAR3MYP9zTxXaGXLVyHWl303C-JzvqRq4fWzSP79zr0GfCFreGtde2-y7U7Q

Pretty well done piece about the 50 states project: https://www.theringer.com/music/2019/7/15/20691544/sufjan-stevens-50-states-illinois-michigan-seven-swans-indie-folk-pitchfork

We did too. I enjoyed it (to the point where my daughter convinced us to start again with season 1 right away).

Awesome. I just contributed to the GoFundMe page to help her out ...

Nice write up Tim. The Feelies also do a bunch of Jonathan Richman covers but I think they play them twice as fast as Jonathan.
-
Nice write-up on Weiss from Rob Sheffield: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/janet-weiss-drum-goddess-sleater-kinney-855098/

Agree 100%. I hadn't yet bought tickets for the Boston show but I'm wondering if I should wait to hear the new record.
-
Janet Weiss just tweeted (@jazzhand) that she's leaving Sleater-Kinney. She wrote "the band is heading in a new direction and it is time for me to move on."
-
That's a great record.

Sort of related to this category: I was listening to an old episode of This American Life and they were telling the story of Stetson Kennedy.

Radiohead OKNOTOK minidisc leak
Oil Can Boyd replied to tinnitus photography's topic in Someone Else's Song
Pitchfork has a piece about it: https://pitchfork.com/thepitch/radiohead-fans-vs-black-market-sellers-the-battle-to-leak-the-ok-computer-tapes/ -
Yeah, I read that yesterday. I remember hearing about the fire but had no understanding of the extent of the damage to the archives. Really tragic.
