  1. One of my favorites that I have not seen mentioned is Dove by Belly.
  2. Going to see him in a few hours.
  3. I can't remember the exact question but Jeff basically said that people always want to talk about the tension between them and why UT broke up and focus on the negative aspects of the relationship. He spoke about how he looked up to Jay and learned a lot from him and particularly how patient Jay was with him.
  4. Via Michael Azerrad's twitter feed: Exciting news: out in spring, the #audiobook version of _Our Band Could Be Your Life_ w/Grammy-winning @HachetteAudio. Folks who were inspired by the bands in the book read chapters. First up: @JeffTweedy from @Wilco reads the Minutemen!
  5. I really enjoyed it. I don't think he had great rapport with the interviewer and I suspect that they only met a few hours before the show. She also didn't seem to understand that people want to hear Jeff talk and not her. (And to be clear, I know she had a really tough job and I don't think she was terrible.) But he was funny and engaging and thoughtful and genuine. He seemed a little nervous, maybe from not knowing what questions were coming next. He talked about everything from musical inspirations to shredding on the guitar to depression/addiction to Jay Farrar. He then played thre
  6. Agree. There are even some versions where Donna's contributions add to the song.
  7. Nicely done. I'm looking forward to catching up on my sleep (and not being so stressed about baseball).
  8. It was part of the Town and the City Festival. https://www.thetownandthecityfestival.com/artists/ That particular show was at Christ Church United. There were maybe 30 people for Damon & Naomi and 50 for Kristin Hersh.
  9. Nice! I saw Damon & Naomi play up in Lowell last weekend opening for Kristin Hersh.
  10. I read that Eric Gagne (remember him?) noticed something in Kimbrel's motion that was tipping his pitches and alerted Cora. He looked pretty good last night.
  11. I don't like the fact that Kimbrel has gone from a lights-out closer to being the reincarnation of Mitch Williams.
  12. Jealous! But it sounds awesome. I've seen them do lots of Velvets covers over the years but they definitely introduced a bunch of new ones for this show. Oh! Sweet Nuthin!

  14. Wow - that 9th inning in the Sox-Yankees game nearly undid me. Glad that series is over.
  15. Nice oral history of Anodyne and the end of UT: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-country/uncle-tupelos-anodyne-at-25-oral-history-wilco-733327/
  16. D'oh! Just looked at my calendar and saw that I already have tickets for Richard Thompson that same night. Gah ...
  17. I'm section B row 15 in Boston but didn't see a VIP/meet and greet option ...
  18. Good lord - now he's mocking Dr. Ford. He's the President of the United States of America and he's mocking a victim of sexual assault.
  19. Totally weird - the Sweethearts of the Rodeo tour is in Boston tonight, and I just ran into David Crosby in Harvard Square. (I gather he's speaking at Harvard today.) I was walking down the street when a cab pulled up and he got out. I said hi. I wonder if he will try to crash the Sweethearts show ...

  21. I was at the 9-18-82 show in Boston and they played it coming out of space. It was fun to hear a new song and to see them continue to figure it out, both in terms of the song itself and where to slot it into the live shows.
