I watched the Netflix documentary about the Fyre Festival (as opposed to the Hulu version). I hadn't really followed it when it was happening - except to understand that it was a real nightmare - but I had no idea how messed up it really was. There is plenty of blame go around but I thought they took an interesting look at the role of "social media influencers."

What did you think Tim? I thought it was great - though I have to admit that I had to leave after the Nervous Eater's cover in the encore. And I do miss Kelly Hogan.

It is interesting to look at historic voting. Cy Young only got 76% of the vote. 11 voters didn't vote for Babe Ruth. 23 didn't vote for Willie Mays. 20 didn't vote for Ted Williams. Joe DiMaggio made it on his third try.

I'm a little surprised that Mariano Rivera got into the HOF unanimously. I assumed that at least one voter would either continue the stupid tradition that no one should be unanimous or decide that he wasn't worth because he was a relief pitcher.

As am I. Though I agree that he turned Moonlight Mile into too much of a dirge.

I'm still bummed that I had to choose between RT and the Tweedy book reading a month or so ago. I picked Tweedy but I always love seeing RT.

Is this offer still open? I'd love it ... I saw Rob Sheffield read/talk last night about his book on the Beatles. He raved about the 50th anniversary edition - though it sounds like he got to listen to it at Abbey Road Studios with Giles Martin (which would have been incredible).

I can't remember the exact question but Jeff basically said that people always want to talk about the tension between them and why UT broke up and focus on the negative aspects of the relationship. He spoke about how he looked up to Jay and learned a lot from him and particularly how patient Jay was with him.

I really enjoyed it. I don't think he had great rapport with the interviewer and I suspect that they only met a few hours before the show. She also didn't seem to understand that people want to hear Jeff talk and not her. (And to be clear, I know she had a really tough job and I don't think she was terrible.)
