miss jayne replied to Dreamin''s topic in Someone Else's Song
Thank you Judy that made my day...I especialy like number five as I shuffle off to work....I have been on vacation have we discussed the fabu movie Leonard Cohen I'm your Man? -
I think Workingmans Dead and American Beauty for an easy start then maybe One from the Vault or a Dick's Picks. There are also some good shows streaming on archives.org. I really have been missing Jerry this summer...so many years later and that sound from his guitar still gives me goose bumps. It's fun to listen to the early stuff then check out the later years with the crazy MIDI stuff...have fun.

There were days and there were days and there were days between Summer flies and August dies the world grows dark and mean Comes the shimmer of the moon on black infested trees the singing man is at his song the holy on their knees the reckless are out wrecking the timid plead their pleas No one knows much more of this than anyone can see anyone can see There were days and there were days and there were days besides when phantom ships with phantom sails set to sea on phantom tides Comes the lightning of the sun on bright unfocused eyes the blue of yet another day a springtime wet with sighs

I just finished phil's book which really speaks to the big machine the dead was at the end. I did read somewhere that Billy said that they could maybe play together now that they didn't have to be business men, which Phil points out time and again they were really bad at. I hope for some fun releases and I dread the day I return to Vegas to see The Grateful Dead Musical but you guys know I'll be there

Lucinda Williams, Emmylou Harris, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Richard Thompson, David Hidalgo, Louie Perez, Cesar Rosas, Elvis Costello all doing brillant work later in their lives...I think it gets better and better for many artists. And being clean adds a pretty intense punch to some peoples work.

Pretty much you're guaranteed your first Wilco show will make you very very happy! "Do not postpone happiness." Jeff Tweedy, or some Buddhist lady, or both. I went to see Wilco based on advice from Wendy...traveling alone has never been anything but an adventure for me and I always meet interesting people. So, I say go for it and if you can throw in an art museum or a beautiful park more power to you!
