  2. Mrs. Peel I am with you upfront and astounded by how tight this band is and how wonderful a song writer Jason is. Looking forward to Slim's in January.
  3. Well there is that.....what about X, Black Flag or The Minutemen for late 70,s early 80's DIY culture holding the door open for freedom like Jerry G was doing?
  4. I think Jim spends his days between the two worlds anyway so it will be a thrill to see his report from over there Studio in the woods, Colorado, and cooking hmmmm sounds like a beauty again!
  5. 1. No you are not. 2. People I know who have travel extensively feel NZ and Oz are the most beautiful locations in the world. 3. When in doubt always go for the tour. 4. What would DBoon do? 5. We all await your full report!
  6. Didn't someone say "Nels is essential"...And as for Rock Star posturing I say the world was a lot more fun when there was more of that .My friends that saw Wilco recently for the first time pointed out how rare it is to see a songwriter at a peak like Jeff is, with a band so tight and focused as Wilco is right now. I think all of the different line ups have their strong points its so fun to watch the evolution.
  7. beautiful list....gotta love phil and his fab friends
  8. all i can add to this is that he put together an instillation at SFMOMA and I spent more time in that room than I care to admit

  13. I have been so lucky this year to see the dirt underneath and patterson solo and Jason's new band twice. There is nothing like a DBT show...can hardly wait for this album to come out. Patterson told us he would be back in SF in February so let the tour begin. And if you haven't seen Jason's new band check them out...really fine the other day in the park.
  14. I'm with ya Edie...and as the stencils on the sidewalk say here in ecotopia "Al Gore is my hero "
  15. I have to share that during SBS the birds were outstanding...lots of playing crows and beautiful light as it was towards sunset. Also we got tons of mallards flying over. The gardners and I were very impressed with that.
  16. what a lovely way to start the weekend! As the seven year old who was with me observed "He's a Daddy, his kids are right up there." And welcome to fog city Andrew! Get the slackers to see Emmylou there is nothing like the wind blowing across that meadow and her voice. Loved the Mountain Bed and Bob Dylan's Beard can't believe how wonderful the day was...being a Hoosier girl Pink Houses into Sunken Treasure kinda slayed me. Do we get any special appearances the next few days?
  17. We were just talking the other day at work about Neil playing in Redwood City before he toured in days gone by...or rehearsing at the Warfield and all the rumors with that scene. I'm with Dreamin, should I just forward my paycheck to Neil this fall
  18. "Welcome to the DBT support group. My name is Molly and I have a DBT addiction. " Trying to fly to Bloomington to see a club show as they are only doing an hour in the park!
  19. I remember the first time I heard this song...Alpine Valley long long ago. I listened to it over and over again that night (taper friend had plugged into Healy/board I believe) anyway thought it was brillant and must have listened to it 20 times in a row. Still remember how intense he was thanks for the link great way to start the day.
  20. God bless Neil Young. I was at a party last weekend (our annual Jerry G. memorial) and we listened to LWW and Prarie Wind. Both classics produced in 1 year. Maybe it was the beautiful setting or old friends around the fire but to me the words timeless and essential came up. Nice to have a songwriter of this magnitude working today.
  21. Let me ask you one question Is your money that good Will it buy you forgiveness Do you think that it could I think you will find When your death takes its toll All the money you made Will never buy back your soul Masters of War (Now more than then) And on a lighter note: Flowers on the hillside, bloomin' crazy, Crickets talkin' back and forth in rhyme, Blue river runnin' slow and lazy, I could stay with you forever And never realize the time You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go
  22. Brillant....thanks for the link. God bless Neil Young.
  23. I think the Rollins Band/X combo is a testament to a powerful time in rock history. I have seen both of these bands many times and can't say enough about how much fun you are in for. And if the Knitters tour make sure you see that too.....love Exene.Enjoy!
  24. and as Bobby D says: May God bless and keep you always, May your wishes all come true, May you always do for others And let others do for you. May you build a ladder to the stars And climb on every rung, May you stay forever young, Forever young, forever young, May you stay forever young. May you grow up to be righteous, May you grow up to be true, May you always know the truth And see the lights surrounding you. May you always be courageous, Stand upright and be strong, May you stay forever young, Forever young, forever young, May you stay forever young. May your hands always be busy,
