  1. Some of the wealthiest people I know took their money out of the market at the top. Told to by economic advisers to do so others ignored that advice and are having to "sell the Porsche". Art Lauffer trickle down economics....just like PNAC another fabulous neocon idea that has lead to despair on so many levels. Over leveraged, no one paying much attention, no fundamentals in place "merrill lynch an astonishingly well run company", and two wars that put all of us in the poor house. Good God these guys piss me off. I think that when everyone figures out how phony all this has been we will
  2. wouldn't it be nice if there was some integrity in our foreign policy?
  3. I loved the footnotes and agree with E.S. that it was a prompt to look at history for me. I wish I could put a bit more action to words around that but good on Diaz for a little history lesson. And perhaps Oscars isolation is a USA cultural thing. I loved the way that the island/nature rejuvenates each character even though they have spent their lives getting away from the horrors that occurred there. Kinda a PTSD thing. Wasn't the violence experienced so evident in everyone's daily lives. Tragic and sad to think that exists in most ever countries history. Which really gave me pause.
  4. Time I so agree with you post. This guy really gets it and has for a long time. I am still getting a little teary seeing him speak. Its really a beautiful miracle that this is happening. And what a great day for Farm Aid and also Wendy who had her mind blown by NY that day Thanks for the post.
  5. wow what a wonderful book. I really thought the character development was astounding. As for Oscar vs the ladies I thought my miss with him was that I don't know that much about gaming. Although I once knew a guy who was a huge DnD player and a writer. He was not that heavy but prone to depression as is so aptly described in the book. As to the fuku I believe many cultures have a personification of danger but that was truly a creepy one. I am off to the nursery today so can't chat much here...gogo java beach on sloat? . I will check in later. Really loved reading this and that says alot con
  6. Right On...like a beautiful dream come true!!!!
  7. "Princess on the steeple and all the pretty people They're drinkin', thinkin' that they got it made Exchanging all kinds of precious gifts and things But you'd better lift your diamond ring, you'd better pawn it babe You used to be so amused At Napoleon in rags and the language that he used Go to him now, he calls you, you can't refuse When you got nothing, you got nothing to lose You're invisible now, you got no secrets to conceal." Like most of his songs a whole novel in one verse. As to his delivery, one of the most powerful performances I have ever seen was Masters of War at the Bi
  8. How about volunteering at a place that interests you. Most non-profits seek volunteers and many times that leads to meeting someone that can help you. As for online communtication, although I have not yet had to look for a job that way, it still astounds me to come back from two days off and have 4 pages of emails...and I only talk to most of those folks who sent them once or twice a month. And this is a small locally owned place...on a astrological note the aquarian age does have an aspect that indicates humans could blend with machines
  9. Right on El!! I was just thinking of how many times I say thank you for the post A-man...
  10. thank you for the review...its always an honor to see Mr. Dylan anytime but especially when he's on...nice setlist.
  11. pretty historic tour...feel like its gonna be a fun November!
  12. Isn't Barack a beautiful example of a melting pot America? When I was in Indiana this summer I asked my friends 21 year old daughter if her friends would have a problem voting for a black candidate for president and she looked at me as if I'd arrived from another planet and said "Molly, he's blended and that really doesn't matter to us anyway. We will vote for him because of what he will do about the war." Point being that so many young people don't see color the way that older folks do and they had seen thru the BS from the neocons. This by no means negates the historic nature of the electio

  16. I am putting my American Flag pin back on today (right next to my tree hugger pin), then I am going to work right next to a McCain supporter who I am proud to say is my friend. Together we are gonna try today to make the world a tiny bit greener and happier. ( Can releasing ladybugs with children not do that ). For me today is a return to grace, dignity, integrity for this country and the beginning of the real hard work. Goddess bless Barack Obama for showing that we can do this together. The tears were flowing at House of Seven last night what a beautiful moment in the world's history.

  24. oh my goodness gogo that is a living nightmare of a story...though I believe she is on self destruct mode at this point and her emotional sobriety seems very much at stake right now. My bet is exhaustion and rehab somewhat like Britney Spears
  25. so funny you should mention them...alot of the DBT fans are big Slobberbone fans. Today's Patterson Hood message gives them a nod: http://ninebullets.org/
