  2. I've been so blessed to have wonderful concert buddies over the years.(I'm not so good in crowds). Most recently I got a message from one of "the gardeners" at 8 a.m. on the day that Allison Krauss and Robert Plant played in the Golden Gate Park at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. It went something like this "I woke up, as usual, at 6 a.m. today and said to myself 'what would the best use of my time be?' I decided to go down to the park and lay down a tarp with some erosion staples if the tarp is still there this afternoon we will call you" At 2p.m. the message was "the tarp is still there come
  3. Can you really do 4 more years of a foreign policy dictated by a think tank? (http://www.newamericancentury.org/) If I thought the old McCain was possible still alive I might not be so concerned about your decision. Integrity is a key word here. Who has it? Who appears to have lost theirs? Anyone who can allow the very group that slandered them 8 years ago to run their ad campaign after promising to run an honorable campaign is concerned only with their personal gain. Not the kind of quality one should look for in a leader of any organization much less a nation. I'm keeping a good thou
  4. I'll bet that story gives new meaning to the songs Train Kept a Rolling and Draw the Line Of course, then I'd have to tell a story about one of those early tours too!

  7. thank you nudie note the jacket and the pin...hippies for obama on NY and how beautiful the pics of Wilco are.
  8. Wow what a night...my friends and I agreed that we would love to see any of the bands that played again. Although Wilco was early in the day (fourth up) so not as long a set as folks got later in the evening. I'm with Bbop the new song had a nice hook and the lyrics seemed intense. Jeff told us that this was his favorite place...area...market so always great to hope for a multinight run in SF. He also said before California Stars that he was wearing his flag pin in this unamerican part on the country and he was proud of his country. At that moment the big Vote November 4 sign went up on the sc
  9. Thank you for the picture wook. Think I'll put on a keystone show. Rest in peace sweet Merl.
  10. lammy, one of the cool groups from the five night run at the warfield was bob weir, john molo, and phil mesmerizing unrehearsed and beautiful. feel so lucky to have seen that this year it really has been a fabulous year for music http://www.dead.net/node/12059/
  11. I also loved the warren/jimmy phil and friends shows. Quite frankly, it was seeing them at Frost (6-02-2002) that allowed me to start listening to GD again ...just missed Jerry so much it was hard to imagine anyone else singing those songs. I'm a big fan of Jackie's ( he's a Sunset District guy) . I love his version of Sugaree from the Obama benefit at the Warfield. It was so apparent that he was nervous to play with Bobby and we all knew those guys didn't practice for that show. Anyway, you can hear the audience' roar of approval on the recording(sorry can't find a link for that...but I st

  16. Thanks for the posts of the dinner. We, at house of seven, watched that last night and loved it. It is so nice to see both of them roasting each other. It gives me hope for the reconciliation/compromise this country will need on November 5th no matter what happens. At a dinner party the other night (so many of my flatmates friends are comedians or political bloggers that its like being in the middle of a MSNBC broadcast) someone said that the pols mean very little because of the disqualification of voters and challenges that many voters will face at the pols this year. So, thank you to all

He always brings it, however I love when he gets that "crazy horse" vibe going. You know last night was the full moon so you got that side of Neil too And Day in the Life...well aren't we blessed to be able to see that?
