Well that's a bit TMI for me, but you could just skip to the end of the article for the part I was referring to.
-
You should read this article. They talk about the sounds they were going for. http://latimesblogs....er&dlvrit=95857

I thought it was a really beautiful performance.

I would have LOVED to have been there for this. One day I will get to the Ryman.
-
That Orleans cover is really, really bad. Who was the target audience for that?
-
Well, well. Will you look at that? Even when you agree with someone you still have trouble acting like a decent human being.

I just wish someone would keep her away from M. Ward.

It sounds like it could be part of a soundtrack to a children's movie. I get visions of the candyman in Wiilie Wonka, for example.
-
It's so corny. I have a feeling that if anyone other than Wilco did this song, not so many would say they like it.
-
Somebody had to say it.
-
I actually do like that part of the song too though.

I would love to hear more about what was said about Venus at the LRS. I have my own theory of why it doesn't get played which could be waaaaay off base, but it's always been in the back of mind about this song. It's here, down at the bottom of the comments. Same user name. http://www.songmeanings.net/songs/view/3530822107858506714/

It's the only song on the album that I can't get into to.
-
True, but neither are some of the other options that are listed.
-
I would have voted for Venus Stopped the Train if it was an option.

Their strategy of adding a second show in NYC seemed to work. They kept releasing tickets close to the show date as well which drove down the price that the scalpers could charge. I saw many people offering tickets for less than face outside the venue.
-
Yeah, me too. Pretty much.

That email made me a little misty. I drove around with the The Whole Love cranked up way too loud today. It's simply amazing. I'm loving it.
-
Hell no.
-
I have nothing to add here, so I thought I'd chime in just to let you all know that I have nothing to add.

Radiohead has such a great sense of humor.
-
I know! They're everywhere. Christ. It's getting really hard to keep up. I guess this new label is doing a good job for them.
-
Yeah, that was pretty hilarious too.

I really liked that article. This line made me laugh: "some kind of morose genius." Which is kind of true but I always think of Tweedy as one funny motherf%#ker too.
