  1. Just found out that they are back after a 'break'. Just trying to find things to listen to and very hopeful - like the 3 tracks I've heard so far. They've always had a tendency to be a bit patchy for me, but their best is up there with my favourites. The whole of Moo (with the possible exception of the 'hit') however is definitely one of my most loved albums ever. Glenn Richards is a very interesting character too. http://www.augiemarch.com.au/music/ http://www.fasterlouder.com.au/features/40809/Augie-March-I-hope-were-not-a-parody-of-what-we-were http://rollingstoneaus.com/music/pos
  2. http://www.hardlystrictlybluegrass.com/2014/webcast/archive.html The TWEEDY broadcast can be found via this link. There is no sound for the first 30 seconds. Only The Lord Knows was great (again).
  3. You sir have a cold, cold heart ;-) Well, some music I appreciate on a cerebral level, and some goes straight to the heart/gut, and how can you not like teacup percussion? I am a fanboy now. Meanwhile, thanks for the report. It tickled me to see a few glimpses of Sam on the stream as a 'proper teenager' looking a bit grumpy, whilst Spencer seems to have gone straight from child to man and I keep thinking that I want to be like him when I grow up :-) Also, there is NOTHING wrong with bluegrass that a bit of serpent clasping won't cure.
  4. That's all well and good, but were you spiritualised by the Malawi Mouse Boys? Never has the 11am graveyard shift seen such action.
  5. Bob Gruen A lot of these aren't great, just the person who happened to be there at the time, but I did like a few http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/music/11139138/Great-rock-photos-1972-82.html
  6. For a good time watch the Malawi Mouse Boys. Sensational.
  7. Also a link to the Moon Alice site HSB is using for the streaming. Possibly stuff will be there longer if someone can capture for sound and vision http://www.moonalice.com/tour/2014-10-05/hardly-strictly-bluegrass-festival-day-3

  9. So I decided to stay up late . . . after having to be up at midnight after collecting my wife from the airport. That was lovely - though missed the beginning. Just caught the end of an excellent Lake Street Dive too. Will just see Emmylou grace the stage then sleep. The start of TWEEDY and the rest of Emmylou for breakfast. Liking Jim Elkington too. Nice to have a Brit on board, and will definitely have improved things when I talk to JT about cricket and suchlike. Edit - Boo, no Emmylou.
  10. I watched Dave and Gillian yesterday and this link still works. They start around 5 hours 20 in. Steve Earle after too. http://www.hardlystrictlybluegrass.com/2014/webcast/sat-banjo.html You can substitute sat for sun in todays current link to see Mavis too. Not sure how long they will bw available but I hope to see TWEEDY and Emmylou for breakfast tomorrow.
  11. Enjoying the Bluegrass on stream right now. http://www.hardlystrictlybluegrass.com/2014/webcast/sun-banjo.html Still not confirmed if TWEEDY will be streaming but they have not definitely said no yet. Looking to see some familiar faces in the crowd too
  12. More photos than you can shake a stick at. http://www.buffalonews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/gallery?Site=BN&Date=20141002&Category=PHOTOGALLERIES&ArtNo=100209996&Ref=PH
  13. Everyone can watch it here:- http://www.hardlystrictlybluegrass.com/2014/webcast/fri-arrow.html Each artist gets to decide if they want to be included or not. The Aquabats said no (Boo!). Ryan Adams said no. Lucinda Williams said yes. No details of who said yes/no for the rest of the weekend. Everyone used to get pro filmed just for Warren's home videos, but that's been expanded out to the public more recently.
  14. I hope TWEEDY are practising today, 'cos they've got a hard act to follow :-)

  18. The weather forcast looks fabulous. I caught a good year when I was there many moons ago, but by 7pm there was a chill in the air, and it was definitely a bit nippy at 3am on the Sunday. Looks like no such problems this year. Dead jealous. (We've been having an Indian summer here too. Still in t-shirts.)
  19. First episode of the new series last night. Very stylish. Like a 1920s Sin City, but better all round. Excellent soundtrack for Nick Cave/White Stripes/PJ Harvey fans.
  20. http://www.fasterlouder.com.au/reviews/music/40762/Tweedy--Sukierae 8/10 Also, the album is no. 174 in the Amazon UK chart, and no. 1 in their folk rock category. Out of interest, looked at the Amazon.com site:- Amazon Best Sellers Rank: #49 in Music #1 in Music > Alternative Rock > Indie & Lo-Fi > Indie Rock #1 in Music > Indie Music > Rock > General #21 in Music > Rock
