Just to follow up on this, Kung Fu back to me the next day and replied that they’re tied up with pre-orders for the next week or two and then will address replacement issues like mine. Grateful for the quick reply from KF’s customer service

I received the 11 LP sets a few days ago. Very impressed with the sound quality of the alternative tracks. So cool to hear new variations of songs that we know and love. Also happy to report that the disks are flat and sound really clean. However I did just discover that my box is missing LP7 and instead contains duplicates of LP 8. I reached out to Kung Fu with the issue and will update in case anyone else has run into this issue.

Yeah, just watched episode 7 of “The Bear” with virtually the entire 20 minute episode soundtracked to a live version of Spiders, agree with all above. The episode is presented as a single continuous shot of a kitchen trying to meet unprecedented demand for its tasty meals. The intensity grows as the staff begins to crack under the pressure. Outstanding television is great, but when it’s driven by Wilco’s Krautrock masterpiece it’s Art with a capital ‘A’.

All I want for Christmas is candy left over from Halloween.

Great story. My boyhood idol was Fred Lynn, but I’m guessing he doesn’t have the full appreciation of Wilco’s unbridled awesomeness.

Anyone else having trouble tracking their order on the Wilco Reissue Store (Rhino)? I ordered AM colored vinyl over a week ago but am now unable to check status of my order. Grrrrrr.....

In the final episode of Halt and Catch Fire, New Madrid is playing in a café. Great show, which always had a good ear for 80's and 90's alternative tunes.

Not sure if this is on the above Spotify list, but at this summer's Solid Sound Vile played one of his earlier songs, "Freak Train." It has a great chugging locomotive-like rhythm, occasionally punctuated by Vile screaming Freak Train!!! Sounded really good live.

I will second the greatness of Los Lobos' Kiko. I wouldn't consider myself a huge fan of the band, but Kiko is a must-listen of songs which share little in common with the exception that they are all excellent.

Sittin' on my deck on a beautiful Sunday afternoon listening to Friday night's SS show. A happy recreation of Nels ripping off a beautiful Hotel Arizona that evening. Concur with others that the sound quality is pretty sweet.

My vote goes to Television - precise, edgy guitarwork. And whatever 72-year old Peter Wolf takes, I'll have two please. I was surprised at how entertaining his set was. The Shaggs are....an acquired taste.

It's a myth that colored vinyl sounds worse than black, probably perpetuated by limited edition/bootleg pressings manufactured by record plants with poor quality control. My white Star Wars LP sounds fine, as do several of the colored vinyl reissues that Newbury Comics has put out. In the case of the Schmilco vinyl, it just sounds like many of the orange pressings suffered from bad QC, while not so with the black. They may even have been pressed at different plants, not sure.

Folks on the Steve Hoffman message board have been complaining about the quality of the colored vinyl. Issues with non-fill causing noise and side B being off center. So rather than buying the colored vinyl at Newbury Comics, I decided to order the black from Amazon. It was supposed to arrive Sunday, but I am still waiting. Karma for not supporting my local record store.

After reading posts of the previous shows I was a little disappointed about not hearing Spiders last night, but overall a solid show. As others have posted, Star Wars really shines live, and Company In My Back was a pleasant surprise of a catalogue opener. Anyone going tonight - you owe it to yourself to get to the Orpheum right at 7:30 to see William Tyler. He is a truly talented guitarist. BTW, they were selling some of his vinyl for only $10 a pop last night. Currently listening to Behold the Spirit. It is a good pressing.

Picked up a white vinyl at the Newbury Comics on Newbury Street last night; they had several there. Spun it tonight, and it was flat and clean. Oh yes, it was very nice.....

Received the 180g vinyl yesterday on my doorstep - there was much rejoicing. Currently on my second listen. The vinyl is flat and quiet. The sound is excellent, intimate soundstage as if Jeff and Spencer are playing in my living room. Tip of the cap to Executive Producer Samuel L. Tweedy. Current faves are Diamond Light and Summer Noon, but album seems like one of those growers which will yield new faves every couple listens. Psyched to continue to dig in.

I went to a show at Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel in Providence 4-24-2002 when they were still a 4 piece with Leroy. I believe it was the first show following YHF's proper release. They opened with Not for the Season, which I had never heard until that point. Wow - I have never been blown away hearing a song for the first time in concert like I was with that tune. Raw is the best way to describe it, with Jeff slashing at his guitar and Glenn playing a tribal beat. Loved towards the end of Handshake Drugs when Jeff strapped on the electric, twirled on one foot and gave Nels a smile communicating something like "Okay, you've done your typical Nels guitar freakout.
