  1. Nick Cave is officially cool old guy now. Got a notice from the theater regarding the show Thursday. It said no opening act, Nick will go on promptly at 8. I'll be home by 11, nice! haha
  2. Get to show on time. No opener. They started promptly at 8:00 & ended @ 10:00. Was home by 10:30. Us older folks appreciate that haha. Hurting bad today though. Next: Nick Cave on Thursday.
  3. Sparks were great last night. Highly recommended.
  4. I love Tame Impala. Sadly, they haven't done a proper stand alone show in the Seattle area. It's all been festivals or @ the Gorge which is a 2.5 hour drive each way. Spectacular venue but a monstrous pain in the @$$!
  5. Trying to remain optimistic in difficult times, I scored front row center tickets for Placebo in September. They are considered ADA seats in the (old) theater. I actually scored these 2 nights in a row for Wilco when they had the stage with all the leaves. Nice! The ticket prices were realistic for Placebo so it's not much of a gamble. The difference between Europe & US on venue size for Placebo is pretty vast. In Europe, they can sell out multiple nights in big arenas. In the US, it's small theaters for the most part.
  6. Me too on Sparks. I've been listening to them a lot lately. Severely underrated band. Lots of great songs. Probably good to see them now as both brothers are in their 70s. I think Ron is 78 & word is he's looking a bit frail. I heard a tape of their recent show in LA & they sound fantastic.
  7. I've got a pretty good 2 week run coming up starting Monday. Sparks, Nick Cave & Guided by Voices. Hopefully I'll be up for them. BTW: Nick Cave is an expensive old guy now.
  8. Diablo Mesa was pretty good. I'm a sucker for the Preston/Child books & have been for a long time.
  9. Had some more communication with my friend. So far, Poland has taken in 800,000 refugees since the war started & it's rising rapidly. When the missile attack on the nuclear reactor started a lot of people started taking iodine tablets in case there's a fire on the order of Chernobyl. Things are bad & getting worse all over Europe, in particular the eastern & northern parts.
  10. I have a friend in Poland & she says that some people there are packing up there stuff in case they have to flee. I told her she should get out & come here but daydream with no money.
  11. RIP Mark. I'm in shock. the last time I saw him (saw Screaming Trees many times & some solo) he was opening for Nick Cave. He came out & did the father part in "Weeping Song" with Nick. I'm weeping now.
  12. The show was great but I'm paying a high price today. After many years & shows from DBT I finally got to see them play "Angels & Fuselage" live. Such an amazing song. It & Southern Rock Opera were what got me into the band in the first place. That song never fails to give me chills. Unfortunately it has become sort of a theme song for me the last year. I'm going to keep going to shows as long as I can but it's getting very difficult & painful. I've got a bunch in the next few months but I'm definitely taking the health stuff into account now as far as buying tickets go. Hoping
  13. Way over 2 years since I bought the tickets finally seeing Drive-by Truckers tonight. It will be a challenge as I had a rugged week with doctors & medicine being practiced on me. If all goes well, The War on Drugs to follow on Tuesday.
  14. We didn't get many in Seattle either. Maybe once or twice a year.
  15. Episode 7 of the new Ozark season was intense. Now we have to wait for the final 7 episodes, ugh.
  16. TWOD in theory. The tour hasn't started yet & they seem a bit twitchy about it. They've already done away with the opening acts for the tour which is kind of cool. I've got tickets to see them in February. An Evening with is just fine with me. Fingers crossed the tour happens on time.
  17. very dark movie & quite graphic. i saw it a real long time ago.
