  1. I got to meet Robbie Robertson. It was a pretty big thrill for me.
  2. Scored great tickets for Dylan in Seattle. Spendy though, it was actually a little past what I wanted to spend. I just got my tax refund though. I've been seeing him since 1978 & figure there's a good chance this will be the last time. I heard an incredible tape from earlier in the tour. He's doing almost all of Rough & Rowdy Ways which is a great thing
  3. I'll probably go for the 2 cd version. I'm on a fixed income & it's just not smart to spend huge money on this stuff even though I would enjoy it. I've bought YHF at least twice already. Long story.
  4. I saw Crowded House listed on a festival lineup in the states. Fingers crossed a proper tour ensues. I've been a huge Neil Finn fan for over 40 years. Have met him a few times, extremely nice guy. I even paid big bucks to go see him & Mike Campbell with Fleetwood Mac. It was totally worth it!
  5. Wish I could see one of those shows. Colbert did mention there's an anniversary package of the album coming in September. Sign me up for that one!
  6. I just watched a video of Danny Elfman @ Coachella. Unreal good! In his words: a strange little show.
  7. I listened to this band & don't get it. Don't read anything into that, it's just me. I'm old & set in my ways. Enjoy!
  8. What channel is it on? I used to subscribe when I was a youngster. I remember getting a Changesonebowie LP as a bonus for subscribing. Life changing event.
  9. That was about when I was trying to get t-shirts for me & the date. Neumos is kind of a maze as there is more than one room. To get to the merch from the balcony you actually had to exit the club on the main floor & go back in. I didn't hear it but it was probably a minute to 90 seconds in length. My back had hit the excruciating level by then, too. So sue me~!
  10. Guided by Voices were excellent last night albeit a bit short by their standards. "Only" 2.5 hours, haha. Robert Pollard is still in pretty good shape for his age & alcohol intake. & he's been on a hot streak with the records. Lots of the new material & a good spread of "hits". There were some missing like "Game of Pricks" & "Don't Stop Now" but the show was about perfect length. Sometimes GBV can run out of steam. again alcohol intake involved, haha.
  11. I'm a bit late on this (don't have Netflix) but it's excellent. I'm a recent convert to F1 (I should get bonus points for getting into it before I saw the show). I've given up on NASCAR. They've ruined that with the rule changes. Indy car has some potential. I hope it continues to come back. I watched the whole Indy 500 when I was in the hospital last year & it was an amazing race. F1 though is just awesome. You get everything in the series. Lot of enjoyable soap opera & politics. Some colorful personalities, too. I'm a fan of Lewis Hamilton. I have set myself a goal of being in good e
  12. Just scored Mike Campbell tickets. Club show in May. He's been a fave since high school. Amazing guitar player.
  13. "Hand of God" will blow you away!
  14. Nick Cave was amazing last night. He was in a great mood (can be a factor with him) & Warren Ellis was downright goofy. Nice, long set & very cool lighting. Here's a pic from my crappy phone camera that turned out ok.
  15. Nick Cave is officially cool old guy now. Got a notice from the theater regarding the show Thursday. It said no opening act, Nick will go on promptly at 8. I'll be home by 11, nice! haha
  16. Get to show on time. No opener. They started promptly at 8:00 & ended @ 10:00. Was home by 10:30. Us older folks appreciate that haha. Hurting bad today though. Next: Nick Cave on Thursday.
  17. Sparks were great last night. Highly recommended.
  18. I love Tame Impala. Sadly, they haven't done a proper stand alone show in the Seattle area. It's all been festivals or @ the Gorge which is a 2.5 hour drive each way. Spectacular venue but a monstrous pain in the @$$!
  19. Trying to remain optimistic in difficult times, I scored front row center tickets for Placebo in September. They are considered ADA seats in the (old) theater. I actually scored these 2 nights in a row for Wilco when they had the stage with all the leaves. Nice! The ticket prices were realistic for Placebo so it's not much of a gamble. The difference between Europe & US on venue size for Placebo is pretty vast. In Europe, they can sell out multiple nights in big arenas. In the US, it's small theaters for the most part.
  20. Me too on Sparks. I've been listening to them a lot lately. Severely underrated band. Lots of great songs. Probably good to see them now as both brothers are in their 70s. I think Ron is 78 & word is he's looking a bit frail. I heard a tape of their recent show in LA & they sound fantastic.
