the new record is very, very good.

I'm thinking that this & Drive-by Truckers "What it Means" would make an awesome split single for charity....
-
Downloaded it. Will play when the house wakes up. Nice for Jeff to be able to put out a little memorial for his dad.
-
I'd start with the Propeller/Vampire on Titus cd if you can find it. Mighty lot of good songs on that. I started on Bee Thousand when it came out.

Saw Metallica last night. They were epic. Show was a nice mix of old & new material. They know how to do a stadium show. The fireworks/pyro were impressive. I got to about 1 hard rock/metal show a year & this didn't disappoint. Much better than last year's G 'n R show (although Alice in Chains were mighy opening for them). Here's the setlist from last night: HARDWIRED ATLAS, RISE! FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS THE MEMORY REMAINS THE UNFORGIVEN NOW THAT WE'RE DEAD MOTH INTO FLAME WHEREVER I MAY ROAM HALO ON FIRE WHIPLASH SAD BUT TRUE ONE MASTER OF PUPPETS FADE TO BLACK SEEK AND DESTROY ENCORE

cancelled (Hitchhiker). Neil being Neil.

After a pretty good run I'm on a show break due to some health issues. Had to back out of Diana Krall sadly as I won't be in good shape to go at the end of the month. August is looking busy though starting 8/9 with Metallica. Something may come up before then but need to be careful.

I listened to the webcast. Unreal good. Playing night 1 now. NYCtaper version. So good. I'll most likely buy it if shows up in Roadcase. This tape is pretty mighty though. Supposedly the same guy taped night 2 & the Tweedy set too.

RIP Dave. He also played fine guitar with the Twilight Singers & Gutter Twins amongst others. Far too young.

Nice! Jeff's new cd is superb. I'll have to console myself with Roger Waters tonight.

the anniversary package of "Clouds" is really cool. live disc from that era is amazing.
-
I've seen them several times & they are always amazing. Saw them in May & this year was really good. Steven Drodz is 1 of my favorite musicians & the guitar solo on "Feeling Yourself Disintegrate" was so emotional. Stellar.
-
Have fun at the rock show! 1 of my favorite bands. Think "American Band" was the best album of 2016. & it gets better every time you listen to it.
-
Just got some nice tickets for Matthew Sweet & Tommy Keene in August. Been a long time since I've seen Matthew. A long time fave.

The first thing I heard was "Fearless". As I love that song, it grabbed me totally. Really nice version. Lots of good stuff up on youtube. A few Marley songs, Every PIcture Tells a Story, a few Zeppo, Stones "Let it Loose"! & of course Black Crowes. Tickets were a little spendy for a club show but looks like going to be worth it. with 10 people in the band, many mouths to feed! Not enough good music like this out there nowadays.

I got my tickets for Seattle yesterday. I hadn't heard about this record. A very nice surprise!
-
Didn't want to put this in the Black Crowes thread even though there are lots of Crowes involved. Really like the record. They do a stellar cover of PF "Fearless" amongst many others. Sure seems like a lot of the good musicians that were in the Crowes have joined with Rich Robinson in this. I need to see these guys! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_Fhn1PLt2U&t=219s
