saw them in March in OKC and loved the show (last saw em in '94). Really excited to see the live dvd they filmed at the OKC and El Paso shows come out in early '07....

i was season ticket holder of the game for a preseason game vs the Magic a few weeks ago - got to meet Chris Paul on the court and get my pic taken with him. I'm a good 2" taller than him. He's got mad skillz, though, whereas I do not... but yeah, the dude's pretty good....

I'm pretty excited about this year - bought my season tix for the Hornets here in OKC. But what a tough division - Spurs, Mavs, Rockets, Grizzlies.... we added Peja and Bobby Jackson and a few others that should help, and we've still got our rookie of last year Chris Paul to distribute the ball.... What can you Chicago people tell me about Tyson Chandler? He says he'll be an all-star this year, but so far hasn't shown much in the pre-season besides getting more fouls than rebounds and tweaking his ankle....

almost forgot - next time any of you see Donna/Kidsmoke, ask if she's got any lemon peanuts! mmmm.......

it was great to meet you all, too! i was a little apprehensive meeting someone from a message board for the first time - you never know what they'll be like away from the computer! but you all were great to hang out with - only wish someplace in Wichita was open past midnight so we could've talked more!

Since Clay (creativetype) is out of pocket today, I'll try and provide a little more detail on the camera incident.... Clay was taking pics of some people he knew (we were on the rail), and it was when the band was coming out for the encore, and his flash went off (he'd had it turned off all night so it wouldn't disturb the band), and Jeff asked him "did you want to be in the picture?" and asked for his camera. My first thought was "oh man, Jeff's pissed and Clay's not getting his camera back!" But Jeff took the picture of us, and the crowd's in the background with hands raised - very cool sho

I told Jeff after last night's show in Wichita to "not let Nels go at any time." He said he wouldn't, that they keep him locked up in the bus after the shows... it was so exciting to watch him up close last night - he adds such incredible atmosphere to the songs...

Great time - really enjoyed hanging out with Christine, Donna, and Edie before the show and experiencing the show with all them on the front row! Very nice folks - a great way to pass the time on a chilly, drizzly evening. They're traveling to Springfield for tonight's show, so wish them well... There's a good group pic on someone's camera with Clay (creativetype) and Oceanman and all us other VCers - someone will post it, I'm sure. Hopefully the pic that Jeff took of the crowd when he took Clay's camera will show up - that was a great moment! Wasn't sure how many people would be coming to a S

the instant replay guy who blew the OU/Oregon call at the end of the game is getting death threats. IT'S ONLY FOOTBALL!!!! sometimes living in Oklahoma can be such a beating.... but being an Oklahoma State fan, I do find a little satisfaction in OU getting jobbed....

some of my highlights: Cat Power and Memphis Rythm Band, Gnarls Barkley (dressed as scientists in lab coats), Ted Leo, Explosions in the Sky, Raconteurs, Matisyahu, Son Volt (had a serious Crazy Horse thing going at one point), Flaming Lips (I was about 20,000 people back and still felt part of the show), G. Love, Tom Petty.... Overall saw 23 full sets over the 3 days. Good times.... could've done without the rain, but at least it didn't hit 100

the Lips are going to debut their UFO stage show here in OKC at the Sept 15 Zoo Amphitheater show. It's also going to be filmed/recorded for the cd/dvd coming out next year. and I'll be in Austin for ACL..... nice timing!

I love the Frisco ballpark! Probably my favorite of all the minor-league ballparks I've been to (Buffalo, Tacoma, Colorado Springs, Memphis, OKC - where I live). Used to be in the middle of nowhere, but Frisco's really grown up now!

I have a feeling my OSU (Oklahoma State) will be lucky to hit .500 this year...

That's why I love minor-league ball... $1 Thirsty Thursdays (Shiner and Boulevard Wheat in addition to the other crap) and Two-fer Tuesdays ($4.50 gets you 2 big beers!). I've got a $49 berm-seating season pass that gets me into all the games. Of course, I always head down to the best seats.... and this is AAA ball, not some single-A club....
