black eyed peas have a much bigger following than i thought when i saw them open for U2 a year or so ago. i never paid much attention to them, except seeing where fergie peed her pants onstage once, and i thought they'd get a lukewarm reception opening for one of the biggest bands in the world, but that whole stadium went nuts for them. oddly disconcernting...

just sounded like you knew of someplace that detailed what's been sweetened. i couldn't care one way or the other - i was just curious. already had one listen through and can't tell what's been added...

so which songs are original and which ones have been worked on?

i'm looking forward to seeing how dominant Blake Griffin will be this year. watching him in high school and college, it was pretty obvious that he was something special at those levels.

i'll be at the thunder/bulls tonight. thunder up!

2010 MLB - Playoffs and hot stove!

my first major league game was in '88 when rick schu of the orioles hit a grand slam vs the rangers at old arlington stadium. i'd just really started following the rangers since okc had been their triple-a team for a few years at that point. always made it a point to get down to arlington at least once a year to see the big league team. been a long time coming to finally see them make it to the world series, and i've got a ticket to game 4. -

sunny in philadelphia and the office. i grab the remote and don't let my wife touch it during the theme songs so she can't fast forward it.

should be a great time! my buddy's going tonight too, and it'll be his first playoff game. he also got me an extra game 4 world series ticket if the rangers get that far -

so great to see the rangers get to the a.l. championship series... been following them since we (oklahoma city) became the triple-a farm team in '83. bittersweet, though, since next season the rangers are moving the team to round rock and we'll be the farm team for the houston astros... -
saw phish for the first time at the austin city limits festival over the weekend. talking to friends who are big fans, i knew pretty much what to expect as far as musicianship, light show, fans, etc. and it didn't disappoint. very cool show...

and on most, if not all of the electric only shows, they've been playing about 115-120 minutes.

after trying to hold up and read stephen king's "under the dome" (it's huge!) and recently receiving a $40 barnes/noble giftcard, i think i'm gonna get a wi-fi nook. don't really think i need a 3g version - not planning on being anywhere i can't access a wi-fi hotspot... read lots of nice reviews about the nook, too. just a matter of money at this point for me...

got a free ticket to the rock-n-america 3-day 80s rock festival in okc over the weekend. could only go on saturday, but saw michael schenker group (carmine appice is his drummer), l.a. guns (the tracii guns version), cinderella, and scorpions. all of them sounded awesome. hard to believe they've all been at it so long... michael schenker and herman rarebell came out and joined scorpions on a few songs, too. bands that were there on the other days i couldn't go: twisted sister, great white, lita ford, ratt, dokken, lynch mob, firehouse, steelheart, bulletboys, faster pussycat...

i met ryne sandberg last night and got his autograph. nice guy. he's managing the aaa-iowa cubs, who are in town to play the okc redhawks. he seems to be moving steadily up the ladder to be a major-league manager...

i remember seeing him open for Tom Petty back in the early/mid-80s. i also saw him open for the Cars back in the same time period, and he had Paul Carrack with him in his band and Carrack sang "Tempted." good times...

i like my guy best, kevin durant.

i like it. it sounds like a maiden song and i dig the galloping bassline. it really came across great live. i'm curious to hear what the rest of it sounds like. 2 long months from now...

i saw them on the moving pictures tour and max webster was supposed to open the show, but broke up a few days before our show. so rush just came out and played longer to make up for not having an opener!

saw iron maiden the other night in dallas. so, so good... bruce dickinson still sounds great, and the band was on fire and having a great time. the setlist drew mainly from the 2000's... definitely not a greatest hits show. had pit tickets and that was one of the tamest pits i've ever been in! i think most of us were getting up there in age ;–) the stage show was similar to what you see on flight 666, but more of a outer space theme. the backdrops changed with every song, and the new eddie was pretty cool - like what you see on the cover of the new cd. The Wicker Man Ghost Of The Navigator

i'm going. not as strong as some past fests, imo, but it's the whole austin experience that draws me in... mildly interested to see phish and the eagles, though...

that's too bad. looking at the setlist, i think it's pretty solid, but i've been a fan of theirs for 20 years. it wasn't a "greatest hits" setlist by any means, though. i wish you would've had a better time. Set List: Wash, Hail Hail, Corduroy, Got Some, In Hiding, World Wide Suicide, Force Of Nature, Immortality, Go, Even Flow, Army Reserve, Unthought Known, Daughter/WMA, Sleight Of Hand, Johnny Guitar, Do The Evolution, The Fixer, Why Go 1st encore: Just Breathe, Given To Fly, Leash, Porch 2nd encore: Wasted Reprise, Life Wasted, Black, The Real Me (Townshend), Smile, Alive, Indifferen
