  1. has anyone used these Bose on-ear headphones? i've listened to them in the store and they're really comfortable and seem to have a nice sound to them...
  2. i had a $50 cheap seat at the Norman show. it was behind the stage, about 30 rows up. they definitely played more to the front - probably at least 90% of the time, but it was an open stage, and each member at some point numerous times would walk around the stage to the back on the catwalk. the behind the stage crowd definitely wasn't forgotten about. you couldn't see all that great, but at a stadium show when you're more than 100 feet away, does it really matter anyway? doesn't matter front, back, side, rear... you're not gonna see a whole lot, so get used to looking at the video screen... i h
  3. the other night in Michigan, he apparently forgot where he was! from backstreets.com: Imagine, then, Bruce coming onstage and greeting the crowd with a salute to Ohio! And then sticking Ohio in to the lyrics of "Wrecking Ball" — of course, a Michigan audience tends not to object too much to lines such as, "tonight Ohio is going down in flames." Finally, Bruce put Ohio into the rap for "Working on a Dream." This last actually managed to get a few boos, and prompted Stevie to inform Bruce that they were, in fact, in Michigan. Bruce took it well, and periodically shouted out, "Where am I?" thro
  4. Roger Daltrey spoke at my university's Academy of Contemporary Music last night... Wayne Coyne was there also...
  5. i was checking out the setlist for the Dead Weather show i saw and one of the songs i didn't recognize was "forever my queen" by Pentagram... so i checked Pentagram out and their 70's stuff sounds like early Sabbath... i got "first daze here" - an early collection of their music...
  6. some very interesting news: Not that Coyne has lost his lifelong love for Pink Floyd. He and the Lips have been working in the Norman studios of ex-Chainsaw Kitten Trent Bell, in collaboration with Stardeath and White Dwarfs, the band fronted by Coyne’s nephew Dennis Coyne, on their own version of what is arguably Pink Floyd’s greatest album, "The Dark Side of the Moon.” The demented voices on the record will be supplied by Coyne’s good friend, Henry Rollins. Peaches will provide the screaming on "The Great Gig in the Sky.” "I think it’s going to be an exclusive on iTunes for about a yea
  7. Four Horsemen... man, i hadn't heard that name in years... good memories of hanging out on their tour bus after a show in '91 and shooting the breeze with Haggis and Frank Starr... i was a little disappointed no drugs appeared, only beer ;–)
  8. saw them a few weeks ago for the 6th time, but it's the first time i've seen them with Luther Dickinson, and he adds so much to the band with his guitar work... they've got it going right now...
  9. if it's like the show i saw at ACL over the weekend, Levon won't be singing... under doctor's orders to rest his voice. his band sings the songs instead...

  11. went to this show too... was a little apprehensive about how this would come off live - didn't think it'd be as loud and rock as it was, but it was great! rowdy crowd, which i think energized the band as well as it being the last night of the tour... great way to spend 2 1/2 hours!
  12. i watched a show on Travel Channel last night - Johnny Colt: At Full Volume - seems like this may be a regular show? he went to Thailand and did some adventure-y things - did some Thai fighting/boxing, got a Thai tattoo on the back of his head, did some rock climbing, was around cobra snakes, etc... kind of interesting to watch...
