One of my favorite songs when I was in high school...

Agreed! O'Rourke is a genius

A while back, I downloaded a 96/24 rip of YHF from vinyl that someone had done and had converted into an ISO file in a 5.1 format. Can't vouch for the quality of the software or equipment that was used to create the file. I burned it to a DVD and finally got around to listening to it last Friday. I don't know what all the conversions this individual did had as an effect on the sound, but hey, it was free. I have some fairly decent audio equipment and would say that what I heard was interesting. There was a good separation of vocals to the center channel and I was able to hear instruments that

I lost my step-daughter in 1986 in a car accident. She was eleven. Just last Sunday, my wife cried in a resteraunt when she began thinking about her. I guess what I am trying to say (and I am very sorry to have to tell you) is that the intensity of the pain and the black hole of depression you now feel will never go away. My only consolation is to tell you that the frequency of the times in which you feel this way will gradually lessen of the years/decades. It is probably the worse thing in the world for a parent to lose a child and my heartfelt condolences to you and your family. I hope that

Mad Men in suits walking about I'd like to change your point of view someday But I feel my patience slipping away

Do you think Wilco/Jeff Tweedy would ever lip sync??
Robby replied to IRememberDBoon's topic in Just A Fan
I think the Beatles appearances on Ed Sullivan were live. Also I recall back in the 80's (30 years ago) R.E.M refusing to lip sync for a music video and they did it live (So Central Rain, I think) -
Thanks to everyone for your answers! It sounds from the all varied responses that most of the Roadcase shows are pretty good choices.

I recently purchased my first Roadcase show (The Solid Sound Covers Concert) and I'm interested in purchasing one or two more. Is there anyone out there that have bought a few of these and have a favorite? I'd particuarly be interested in hearing from those who got a show that they did not attend in person, so that your opinion is based on the sound quality, performance, etc.of the recording. Over the years, I have downloaded several shows from Owl & Bear, Dime A Dozen & other torrent sites (audience, matrix, sbd, fm broadcast) so I think I have a pretty good idea as what to expect

I downloaded nyctaper's recording of the show, pushed the files to a jump drive, plugged the drive into my new reciever (it will play FLAC files), sat back with my Chinese Crested to keep me company and a can of Steel Reserve and had a throughly enjoyable time last night. Thanks nyctaper! (and of course, thanks, Wilco!)

OH WOW! I just spotted what looks like a professional camera operator from the side of the stage!

I wasn't there, but, in my opinion, this was a once-in-a-lifetime performance by a once-in-a-lifetime band. Reality tells me that my physical health and finances would have never allowed me to make it to and make it thru this festival, but I wish I was there as opposed to having my clients and their advisors needle and criticize me all Friday & today (sorry - a job related venting). Thanks all of you who have supplied the less fortunate of us with updates and videos of this show. It has made my day a lot brighter. And especially, thanks to Wilco. I feel sorry for my friends & family (a

Thanks very much for sharing! Wow,Tommy Stinson was there as well! With the recent news can Paul Westerberg be too far away?

It's funny how these songs have a bit of "Jeff History" to them. I think he sang Peace, Love & Understanding with Golden Smog & I know Uncle Tupelo covered Dead Flowers. Not really making any point here - I guess I just a had shitty day today and really wish I was there tonight. Would love to have heard And Your Bird Can Sing. Hope this gets recorded but I suppose there would be legal issues if Wilco sold the performance like they do with some of there other shows.

I believe the original version by The Count Five included a harmonica. Wonder if Jeff played it on their cover.

Amazon wants $24.95 and that it's coming out in September : http://www.amazon.com/Wilco-Sunken-Treasure-Tim-Grierson/dp/178038548X/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1370382362&sr=1-1-fkmr0&keywords=Wilco%3A+Sunken+Treasure+%28Hardback%29 Not sure why the cover shot shows eveybody's hands in their pockets (except Nels & John)?

I've seen this commercial a lot on TV lately - last time was during Mad Men this past Sunday. I hope Glenn gets paid by how many times it runs.

I know members of Wilco have a lot of side projects, but this one is a bit strange. Oh well, they have to look out for the future and provide for their families. Free faucets for life!

I would like to know more about the "incidents" with border police that "maybe shouldn't be discussed at this time". Hmmmmm.

Tampa venue is at the Fairgrounds and is outside. At the end of June, Tampa is a pretty miserable place to be outside. I'd rather have my Wilco inside, so I'll wait a few years until they come back - hopefully to the Stratz Center.

I hope they would continue to do this, but I can understand his why he might not like it. I have been listening to a show from 2003 (Wallingford, CT) in which they did Muzzle of Bees, ALTWYS and Spiders. The versions of Spiders & Bees were very diiferent from what wound up on the album, however, the newer version of Spiders they have been doing for the last year incorporates how they performed it at the 2003 show. And for my mind at least, I like this version better

Went to Wilco's Facebook page for the link to the concert. It is still showing up as out of sync - by about 10 seconds - judging the time difference from when I see Jeff sing and hear him sing. Not sure if it's my PC, but I have a good connection and have not had problems before. Hope they get it fixed while it's still available because the camera work & sound are great. One caveat, there is about 15 minutes of instrument pre-checks before the concert actually starts.

Link for Wilco live stream today from Sydney Opera House

Frank Herbert. I have read/listened-to the original Dune novels several times.
