I'll try to knock it down in size and upload it somewhere for those without Dime accounts. In the meantime, check out this nice video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxe1ZP5fjLg

It took a bit of snooping, but I loaded rtsp://streaming.smartleydunn.com/streaming.smartleydunn.com/20090415_wilco_milwaukee_100.mov in QuickTime Player and it showed what appeared to be a variable bit rate. It never dipped much below 128kb/s, so that's probably what it is.

May the ghost of Roy Rogers forever haunt the idiot with the Sharpies. http://www.christies.com/LotFinder/lot_details.aspx?intObjectID=5185534

The streaming link I posted should work with VLC and (perhaps) other media players. It's very choppy right now; hopefully it'll clear up by showtime. I think I heard a little of the opening band and it was choppy, too.

Just noticed that the top 16 albums on Amazon.com are Michael Jackson records. Number 17 is Wilco (The Album).

Three minutes of crappy video from the show with Pronto last Saturday night.

Apples and oranges. Rappers like Eminem will shoot you in the face for downloading leaked copies of their music. Wilco just wink and suggest that you contribute a few bucks to charity.

I've seen this Amero nonsense settled on on other forums thusly: 1) Mr. Amero sets a hard & fast date on which he claims that the Amero will be publicly implemented. Hopefully not too far into the future - maybe one or two years. 2) Mr. Nonbeliever places a bet with Mr. Amero that the Amero will not be implemented by the above date. The value of the bet is agreed upon and the deal is sealed with an Internet handshake. 3) The winner of the bet is paid off in GOLD. (Fractions of an ounce, typically.) -
Move over VW, we have a new corporate sponsor.

I just checked and it does NOT have subtitles. My deaf friend would not be pleased.

Today's black program is tomorrow's run-of-the-mill aircraft. $50 billion isn't all that much money in the grand scheme of things.

I always figured that the eyeliner that Richard wears means that he's an ancient Egyptian.

Speaking of mustaches at the jazz fest, I spotted this Gabe Kotter lookalike in the blues tent Saturday.

I think we'd all be shocked by how few spies we really have in certain countries. Everything I've read has lamented the fact that we have so few boots on the ground because it's so damned difficult to pull off. So that's why things like phone/e-mail taps and no-fly lists and interrogations are so important, yet they are under constant bombardment by the (usually) well-meaning press and the deluge of leaks and lawsuits only serve to make things more difficult on the agencies trying to protect us. The blowback from the memo release has impacted the intelligence community in a very big way. Oba

If we've learned anything, hopefully it's that these scumbags are more trouble alive than dead. With any luck we'll kill them all on the battlefield rather than arrest them and wade through the legal quicksand that weakens the nation and emboldens its enemies.

Does it claim that people were waterboarded after 2003?
