  2. I, too, waited until the last minute for reservations and settled for the Super 8 motel in Brattleboro, VT. It was cheap and the reviews weren't too frightening. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g57192-Brattleboro_Vermont-Hotels.html

  4. I think the BBC show "Ashes to Ashes" did a much better job ending the series (and "Life on Mars", too) with a similar finish. It was much more satisfying than the "Lost" ending. I wonder what the creators of "Lost" thought when they learned that their big Purgatory reveal was used to end another hit series two days earlier.
  5. "I have a 1962 Jaguar that I bought in the ’90s at Black Market Music for $300. I had it painted with a picture of [fashion model] Kristen McMenamy. I kind of adored her whole vibe at the time—I liked that she was older than all those other girls and just came along with this androgynous look. I played that on “Hummingbird” and some of the more country numbers because it has a nice twang." http://www.premierguitar.com/Magazine/Issue/2010/May/Interview_Nels_Cline.aspx?Page=2

  10. I was just looking at the prices on the Bonnaroo website: Tickets: $250 Shuttle from airport: $60 Tent rental: $750 RV rental: $3200 Hotel: $1200 I think I'd rather fly across the Atlantic and wallow in European festival mud for prices like that.
  11. That's Ringo Starr's son, Zak Starkey.
  12. The phonetic alphabet uses the word "whiskey" for the letter W, so it's either a regulatory thing (can't imply that there's whiskey in a beer) or a sly nod to Wilco. It's probably a bit of both.
