My thoughts on Ode To Joy: In my six years as a teacher, one thing I have to remind myself is to have a growth mindset instead of a fixed mindset. Fixed mindset is believing that qualities are fixed traits and therefore cannot change. These people document their intelligence and talents rather than working to develop and improve them. They also believe that talent alone leads to success, and effort is not required. In a growth mindset , people have an underlying belief that their learning and intelligence can grow with time and experience. When people believe they can become better, they rea

Wilco on Colbert this Monday night September 30th

Their Instagram story has the lyrics to "Everyone Hides" in it. -
Mikael did a podcast that was released today, and at the end you can hear "White Wooden Cross." There's a lot going on in the song based on a good headphone listen. http://www.workinitpod.com/podcast/episode-02-04-wilco-keyboardist-mikael-jorgensen-wilco-does-indeed-love-you/

The whistleblower complaint is out and...oh boy.

My wife and I did the basic because we’re teachers on a budget during the summer (teachers do not get paid over the summer, at least in Chicago). Would have loved to do the VIP. We did get to see quite a bit with the basic tour, like his outfits during the different eras, his guitars through the years (the purple Rickenbacker 360 was beautiful), his office, his dance studio that was turned into the Purple Rain room which held the script, Oscar, and some other memorabilia from the movie, one of his his three recording studios, and the tour ended with the full video of his Super Bowl performance

They played some of their quieter songs, like "You, Your Face" and "Sentient Beings" while still ripping "Water." Then Macie played violin on some of Glen Hansard's songs which was amazing. -

I’ve seen Ohmme more than any other artist this past year and they are so great. I hope they open the Chicago shows. -
Psst: There's a Thursday presale too.

Love the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. Lived there for a month last August. If you have time (and even if you're just a little bit of a fan), check out Paisley Park, Prince's home.

Music Box behind Pat?

Ummm...Do I spot Bbop in the video?

Based on a clip from their Facebook page, I'm guessing music video too.

This was a great season for my White Sox. Tim Anderson, Yoan Moncada, and Lucas Giolito all had breakout seasons. Eloy Jimenez and Dylan Cease got a season under their belts so hopefully next year they take the next step. The back end of the bullpen is pretty much as lights out as you can get. With Luis Robert and Nick Madrigal arriving next year, and Michael Kopech returning, the 2020 White Sox should be extremely fun to watch.

Don’t think so. The new songs I’ve heard so far in some capacity (Before Us, White Wooden Cross, An Empty Corner, One and a Half Stars, Everyone Hides, Hold Me Anyway) are really good and don’t remind me of those three very much. I don’t remember any track on Schmilco/Warm/Warmer being described as having “6 minutes of darkening clouds.”

Videos of Everyone Hides and Hold Me Anyway from their show on the 10th are on YouTube.
