  1. So did you make a run for the exits after they finished their set to avoid Weezer?
  2. I went to both Radiohead shows in Boston (last Sat & Sun) and I'm extremely glad that I went. Excellent! Glad that I held off on buying Smashing Pumpkins tickets which I think were announced earlier in the day when Radiohead was announced back in February. Everyone is touring this summer. I'm seeing The Alarm tonight at the new Tupelo Music Hall in Derry, NH. I'm missing David Byrne in Boston, but I'm driving up to Portland, Maine next month to see him.
  3. Is there anyone else watching HBO's Succession? I'm loving every second of it. The characters are all so unlikable, but the writing & actors make it extremely addictive. Brian Cox is awesome! I'll start Sharp Objects soon. I like that it's over and done in 8 episodes. The pedigree makes it look really promising: based off of the book by Gillian Flynn who also wrote Gone Girl & directed by Jean Marc Vallee who also directed Big Little Lies. I'm loving G.L.O.W. Excellent acting and writing. Love the 80s backdrop. Sacha Baron Cohen returns to TV this weekend with his new show Who
  4. Ok. So who will be the 1st VCer to post in "Live" Tonight that they are seeing Roy Orbison? https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/roy-orbison-hologram-tour-sets-north-american-dates-694945/
  5. Lucky! And thanks for the Radiohead opener info, nalafej & remphish1!
  6. Junun will be on Colbert tomorrow night. Anyone remember what time Radiohead took the stage? I caught a 'scope the past 2 nights, but I missed the first 10 songs or so according to Setlist FM. I'll have to hit up YouTube to see them do Spectre. I couldn't find any info about an opener until reading this thread, so at the time I was surprised at the 7:30 start time. I'm assuming Junun will open Boston as well.
  7. I seem to recall watching this video once and/or reading about it existing. Maybe it was filmed, but never released? I know that a handful of U2 fans claimed to have seen the official video for Zooropa in the wee hours of the morning on MTV. Can't find any info online for that either. A Wilco Mandela Effect Edit: I do remember Jeff being in a green jacket and the video taking place in a hospital! Maybe we saw a glimpse of the video on some Wilco related TV special or something similar.
  8. I'll be seeing Radiohead both nights in Boston at the end of the month. Last time I saw them was 15 years ago. WBCN was broadcasting the show & I remember being pretty pissed that I was listening to the 1st 4 songs in my car in a traffic jam 2 minutes from the venue.
  9. Thanks! Well, a funny thing happened. The arena had to push back the first 11 rows or so for each loge section for the stage to fit. So I expected my row M to be the 13th row which actually wound up being the 2nd row. And it looks like they didn't sell seats behind the stage except for the balcony. I also heard that with these missing seats that the estimated attendance was about 7,500. No surprises, but an extremely intimate show.
  10. I found your 'scope the day after the show. You had an awesome vantage point. I decided to skip GA this time. And on a hot day like today I'm glad that I did! U2 at Mohegan Sun's 10K seat arena. Last show for U.S. tour.
  11. Awesome! Yeah, you're right. You had a great view of the whole screen and pretty much everything.
  12. Enjoy! Hope you have a better view of the show tonight. An hour ago U2Start reported that they sound checked a song yet to be played from Songs Of Experience. I won't spoil it, in case if you want a surprise tonight.
  13. I used to go see Pearl Jam all the time & they seem to keep coming back to Fenway Park which I don't care for at all for a concert. I also have no clue if they ever put out an album this year. LOL I remember seeing a new song put up on iTunes a few months ago. Edit: And I've seen opsopcopolis over on the U2 fan site. Cool when you recognize a screen name from VC on another band's site. I'll try to download your U2 DC recording tonight. Thanks for taping!
  14. First Reformed was a terrific film which was elevated by Ethan Hawke. It wasn't as entertaining a film as American Animals, thanks in part due to its bleakness & austerity, but it will stay cemented in my mind for a very long time due to the subject matter explored.
  15. I loved American Animals. Had me hooked the whole way through. Won't say anything else about it, so I won't spoil it. I'm headed out to see Paul Schrader's First Reformed. While I'm here, let me give some love to Upgrade. This used to be the type of sci fi film that would fill the cinemas back in the day. The script was smart & surprisingly had great humor. Almost all of the special fx are non-CGI, so everything here looks amazing and tactile. Logan Marshall-Green does a great job in the leading role. The story is about a man who becomes quadriplegic during a gang attack that left hi
  16. That sucks! Where are your seats for Newark? I'll be 13 rows up facing the E stage at teeny tiny Mohegan Sun Arena. The tradeoff unfortunately is not being able to see the screen much like you at MSG, but there is your typical square shaped screen above the E stage that shows what's happening on the giant screen & whatever the camera crew is filming. Was there any screen behind the stage? Were either of you able to see the screen that's on the actual E stage? I tuned in last night on Periscope and was shocked to see them do All Because Of You on night 1 instead of night 2.
  17. They played it at the Apollo Theater show 2 weeks ago. I'm hoping to get it at Mohegan Sun on the last show of the tour. Best bet for setlist variation would be MSG 3.
  18. U2 the past 2 nights in Boston. Tonight I'm going to a screening of High Fidelity followed by a Q & A with John Cusack at Wang Theater in Boston where I've seen Wilco. Plus, I have a photo op ticket, so I can meet him for 2 seconds and have a pic to show friends where they can ask me what I said to him. "I didn't 'say anything' to him. He told me to stand on the red tape." Pretty sure that's how these things work. Lol Edit: During the Q & A I'll try to ask him why they didn't use Box Full Of Letters in High Fidelity with it being set in Chicago etc. I also saw Depeche Mode in Bost
  19. Red Sox DFA Hanley Ramirez to make room for Dustin Pedroia's return. Guaranteed he'll get scooped up by the Mets. I'm a bit torn over this decision. He had really good numbers against the Yankees, but he can lose interest quickly and produce jack shit. I understand the money part of it & hope that a move comes of it. The Ramirez-Martinez tandem was fun to watch while it lasted....
  20. Pete Yorn - My friend & I went to catch him at one of the Boston clubs in 2002. He had no stage presence & was boring. Probably better off just playing the album at home. I really enjoyed the album that was out at the time. The name escapes me & I don't think I ever purchased his follow up or followed his career since that show. The Music blew him out of the water as openers. I'm not sure what happened to them either. Edit: hahaha. Wow! I just remembered that I got Pete Yorn as an opener for R.E.M. on their 2003 tour. I remember being pissed that I missed Wilco as an opener by a
  21. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/u2-detail-intimate-apollo-theater-concert-w520309 U2 is set to play an invite only concert at NYC's Apollo Theater on June 11th which will be broadcast on Channel 30 on SiriusXM. "Invite only" in this case means that SiriusXM subscribers can enter to win tickets. Lots of U2 bootlegs already showing up for this tour, including an amazing IEM (in-ear monitors) recording of one of the rehearsals done in Laval, Quebec last month.
  22. http://www.u2gigs.com/show2055.html I tuned in to Periscope/Mixlr last night to catch the tour opener from Tulsa, OK. I was surprised at how much it rocked, even after looking at the rehearsal setlist which was a nice blueprint but last night still had a few surprises in terms of what goes where. It's the longest show that they've done in terms of songs at 27 songs. There are some cool new visual aspects to the show & the screen has new tricks too. That's a bold looking setlist that is sure to cause some ruffled feathers. I'll be tuning in to see what happens with cities that have multip
