Someday soon.

Wilco played the State Theater in January of 2016 right around their 2 nights at the Boston Orpheum. In fact, that Road Case was made free at one point. They even did an in store performance at Bull Moose Records before the State Theater show. I'm pretty sure that Wilco did the State Pier in 2009 which is a different venue than Thompson's Point. I've seen them twice in Portland: 04 @ State Theater & 07 @ Merrill Auditorium. I met most of the band after the 04 show & I'm pretty sure that it was Jeff & Sue's anniversary, since they mentioned it and went up the street to find a pla

I'm not a fan of Peter Wolf either. He's opening up for Tom Petty this summer. A friend of mine saw him at the local music venue down the road from me (Tupelo Music Hall, Londonderry, NH). He loves his music.

There was a bit of confusion about that since their official site was asking for Wilco requests on Sunday which made it look like the 1st year that they'd play all 3 days. Edit: Actually, it's still listed like that.

http://www.stereogum.com/1921819/watch-jeff-tweedy-in-portlandias-grammy-for-suing-sketch/video/ I was surprised to see him on last night's episode. It's very brief, but funny. The episode is titled Separation Anxiety.

Does the VIP section include nasty farting? Or was that to keep people away? Or was it retaliatory?

Yes! I'm actually driving from Pittsfield's Crowne Plaza. I'm hoping that Wilco announces some crazy idea for Sunday night & I can skip U2. U2 is supposed to announce a Monday show, if the first show sells out. That'd be more ideal & less crazy. Plus, I'll pay attention to U2's set lists to see how different they are over 2 nights. I did get 2 GA tickets, so I'll be standing. I also have to figure out how I'm supposed to meet my best friend who lives in Boston.
-
I wound up getting 2 GA tickets ($75 + fees) for Gillette via the TM App. I got zilch on TM.com. I did just renew my U2 fan club subscription for the sole purpose of buying advanced tickets. I have 2 more tickets left to buy based off of the way that goes.

Yeah! I had a weird feeling that something like that would happen, even before these rumored dates floated around. I hope that the 2 Boston shows don't wind up being on the Friday & Saturday of Solid Sound. Otherwise, it looks like my whole summer concert going experiences will be in 4 straight nights.

It does and I hated the idea. I still kind of hate it. I'd prefer the "Experience" leg of the Innocence & Experience Tour, but I'm guessing that Live Nation is behind this because they paid them a lot of money and need to see some profits. I'm not sure how they can tour behind the new album in the fall. This stadium summer tour seems to saturate the market & satisfy the casual fan. I think they'll drop in a few of the new songs. The 2nd leg of the 360 Tour in 2011 turned into an Achtung Baby 20th "anniversary" tour with them opening with 4 tracks from that album and playing less tra

A few more images popping up around the U2 fansites. I do like that the Bonnaroo ad says that U2 will play The Joshua Tree. I heard that they shot the video for Red Hill Mining Town because that was originally supposed to be the 2nd single, but the band pushed for I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For because it would be easier on Bono's voice. U2 has sporadically played In God's Country, One Tree Hill & Mothers Of The Disappeared in their respective locales (Arizona, New Zealand & South America, respectively). I have no desire to hear Trip Thru Your Wires, since it's my least

Lol! The Boston area show is rumored to be the 3rd night of Solid Sound: June 25th @ Gillette Stadium. 2nd show the night after. I'm also hearing The Lumineers are opening the Chicago shows. Someone on the U2 msg board has all of the rumored dates. I'll try to track it down & post it here. Edit: take these dates with a grain of salt, but I'm hearing that a lot of radio stations are supposed to make a big announcement on Monday morning.

What albums are you looking forward to this year?
u2roolz replied to remphish1's topic in Someone Else's Song
Neil Finn/Crowded House Ryan Adams U2 Wilco/Tweedy (I'm expecting something.) The Dream Syndicate (Steve Wynn said new album 1st quarter of 2017 from Oct Facebook post.) -
Some more rumors: U2 is going to use the same stage & stage backdrop for the Joshua Tree Anniversary tour. Mumford & Sons are rumored to open the U.S. shows. Noel Gallagher is set to open the European shows. Cleveland's Progressive Field is also another rumored location along with the Rose Bowl & Met Life Stadium. Plus, quite a few European cities have been tossed around. A-Man is right. They posted a video on Xmas with their 2017 plans & Billboard ran an article on Xmas that wound up being pulled from the site in an hour. There's also word that they might release a new

According to my calculations the announcement was made in early March.

A few U2 fansites are saying that U2 is going to announce a 30th Anniversary Tour of The Joshua Tree on this Monday the 9th with tickets going on sale Tuesday the 17th. The rumored dates are May 20th @ the Rose Bowl and a few shows in East Rutherford's Met Life Stadium in late June. There also rumors of them playing Bonnarroo. The rumored money grabbing Anniversary "mini" tour is set to hit stadiums in a quick 8-10 stops. I'm not sure how part 2 of the Innocence & Experience Tour will happen. Perhaps in the fall? It looks like Live Nation is milking their contract with U2 this year. I'm

Michael Stipe is on Colbert this Thursday night.

I had to buy mine through the Higher Ground page because I didn't see any link after refreshing Wilcoworld. Tix are from Eventbrite. It looks legit. Event is listed as 5pm Fri - 11pm Sun. This is what makes me worried, unless it this year they decide to go wicked late. Edit: I followed the link from yesterday's email and it brought me to Eventbrite.

I've watched since Episode 1 & I enjoy the show, but I feel that the way how they edit the story lines makes it a bit tough to watch. I felt the same way with Stranger Things. There were a few story lines that kept popping up that felt like filler. I can see myself watching Season 1 with a fresh perspective after watching the finale. I've read that Season 2 should be on in 2018. The Netfix Marvel shows are also guilty of having filler. That's what happens when you try to do 13 episodes a season. I will say that Luke Cage surprised me as being the best Marvel show and utilized all 13 episo

I woke up to a bizarre redundant email from Wilco HQ about the 2017 Winter Dates, but this time there's a p.p.s. : "thinking about Solid Sound? We are too. Stay tuned next week."

I almost watched this one during Halloween, but went with Wolf Cop instead which was similar: B movie fun with one of the most outrageous sex scenes I've ever seen set to Gowan's Moonlight Desires. It had lots of great one liners and a sequel is coming next year.

I get the feeling that they'll play Boston after Solid Sound. The inaugural year was the last time that Wilco played in Boston before a Solid Sound in the same calendar year. They did the Bob Dylan tour a month after Solid Sound in 2013, but that wasn't Boston proper. I'd love a Boston show too, but I'd rather they hit a CT theater and come back to the Capitol Theater in Concord, NH which is perfect for the Schmilco tour.

Too Late - Dennis Hauck's debut is a neo-film noir that was shot on film in 5 22 minute individual takes with no hidden cuts or editing, but clever transitions. I'll admit that the film was written to sound like dialog that film characters speak, but it works as an homage to the genre and was hugely entertaining to watch. The cinematography is outstanding and the whole production is a technical achievement. John Hawkes plays a private investigator and that's all that I'll say about the plot. I believe that this only played in theaters that had film projectors. It's available on iTunes and does

I'm not sure how many people here follow Steve Wynn on Facebook, but he just announced that they're releasing a new album in the 1st quarter of 2017. It'd be the band's first album since 1988's Ghost Stories. They were awesome at Solid Sound & we were all lucky for them to have been invited.

Which clubs in NH? Nothing springs to mind immediately. I live in NH & can only think of a few bars or theaters in the bigger cities. I did some research and noticed a show in Newmarket.
