Thanks for the info! Sadly, we're not getting Grandmaster Flash, but Will Butler is supposed to be at a club in a few towns over at 11:30pm "presenting" some Disco Town Hall thing.

Do you recall what time they hit the stage? I'm planning on taking the train into Boston on Friday. I can skip the opener. Thanks!

I feel that a fitting response to the 4 points listed above would be "well, U2 never released the official version of Mercy. I don't know what the hell they were thinking." The fact that I have to listen to the track on YouTube is a shame. There's a live version on some vinyl single. Might be fan club or record store day. I forget. They've at least played the track so they are aware of it, but I'm guessing that it will be on some mega get rich huge release of all these rumored abandoned sessions. I really hope that it's a chronological affair & a post retirement one at that, so that we can

That looked like a pretty sweet show! Tour premieres of Policy Of Truth & Black Celebration. Plus, Martin mixing it up with Judas & Strangelove. Curious to see what happens over 4 nights in L.A. Also, it looks like Depeche Mode & Arcade Fire are "following" each other around in venues. If I had paid attention, I would have done DM in Montreal one night & then Arcade Fire the next. Oh well.

The Wilco Facebook post announcing the recently added St. Louis & MN show in November made a point to state that they won't be touring much in 2018. "Taking most of or all of the year off".

One of the biggest gripes that I had was Bono talking about weeding out the album to make it an even 12 tracks instead of 15 which is supposedly what they had. If you're proud of your own material, why not just go with 15 tracks? Trying to cut it down to 12 tells me that they're not confident at all with some of these tracks. And 2 of these 12 songs will be The Blackout & You're The Best Thing, so take that for what it is...

What did you think of The Little Things That Give You Away on Jimmy Kimmel? I think that's the best song that they've done in a long time. A few Pittsburgh DJs were played several songs off of the album & their favorite songs are ones that no one has even heard of yet, so I'm still optimistic.

It's amusing to think that they delayed this record to "keep writing" due to what's going on in the world. I didn't really believe that. DJ KYGO remixed this song & played this remix at a summer fest in 2016 which is why there are a dozen covers of this song on YouTube. That remix has been off of YouTube for a long time now. It was much better. The best thing about this song is the last minute where Bono & The Edge do a call & response. edit: upon further review that's just The Edge singing. A meme that I saw recently seems fitting: a Bono look alike going into a Porta Potty

U2 will be on Jimmy Fallon Thursday night. They'll most likely be playing the single, You're The Best Thing, or The Blackout.

http://youtu.be/1Ai8pIvdkLE This came up in my YouTube recommendations last night, so I listened to the whole show on my way home from A Ghost Story. The mix isn't the best for a webcast, but they played a lot from Sleep Well Beast. It sounds like we're in for a treat this Friday. I wanted to post this here because I think that the title track sounds a lot like Wilco's Not For The Season circa 2003 mixed in with some early 2000s Radiohead.

Neil put together a stunning album with a choir & an orchestra and some of the best melodies that he's done in a long time. The recording sessions are still on YouTube.

Have fun! Awesome show last night. That was my 1st arena show of the year after Wilco @ Mass MoCa & U2 in a stadium. I loved their cover of Bowie's Heroes. I wonder if they'll mix it up for 2 nights at MSG? I think they've played the same set on every show.

Depeche Mode at Mohegan Sun Arena, since they never seem to stop in the Boston area anymore.

The bass line sounds a lot like This Is Radio Clash. I enjoyed the song for what it is & it's a lot more "interesting" in sound than the Miracle Of Joey Ramone. I'm curious how this sounds without the added crowd noise. Edit: The opening guitar riff sounds like it was taken from the unreleased Glastonbury which was played around 2010/2011. They also used another guitar riff from that song for Volcano.

Thanks for the info. That sounds like a really interesting venue. I'll have to do a dry run. Last show I saw in Somerville was Ryan Adams and that was like 10 years ago.

Another new song comes out this Tuesday along with U.S. tour dates expected to be in Nov/Dec.

This is wicked late, but I loved The Joshua Tree 30th Anniversary Tour at Gillette Stadium. Exit was amazing! Loved the last 6 songs off of The Joshu Tree that I have never heard before. I was surprised that I'd love the setlist with all of the "big" hits right off the bat & ending the main set with lesser known songs. I did see a big group leave after they did a great version of Bullet a The Blue Sky. The new song sounded really good in person. That's how I ended the Solid Sound weekend on Sunday. I'll need to remember to listen to the Jeff & friends show that I bought. In Amster

Was this at Thompson's Point? I was up in Maine this weekend for something else & almost went to the show but the rain scared me off. Is there a curfew there? I'm assuming 10pm & I've read around $20 to park. Can't believe Wilco is already coming up this weekend. Solid Sound seems so long ago. Edit: just seeing your response now to the previous post. I had left the reply option open to remind me to ask about this place.
