What did you do to get him to block you?

It's entertaining and cerebral sci-fi. It's definitely a no brainer lead in to Crichton's similar Jurassic Park. I'm interested how they expect it to be a series.
-
Ha! Damon auto correct! It's an HBO remake of the 1973 Michael Crichton film. This one was getting a great cast.

I saw the trailer for Vinyl last night and it looks great. Unfortunately, it doesn't come till 2016. I feel like they were going to pair this with David Fincher's show about the music video biz in the 80s, but HBO halted production on that after seeing a few episodes. Speaking of HBO, when are they ever going to put on Westworld?

I'm going to try to see The English Beat tonight at a tiny venue, Tupelo Music Hall, about 5 minutes from me in NH. I've seen Tim Robbins, Cline/Lage and The Fixx there. I'm definitely seeing The Tubes there on Oct 22. Howard Jones is also there later this month. After reading this list, I'm going to look into dates for Ash and The Feelies. I have a very cool story about The Fixx that I'll share in a bit.

http://www.earwolf.com/show/u-talkin-u2-to-me/ U2 showed up on Scott Aukerman & Adam Scott's U Talkin' U2 To Me podcast which is pretty freaking awesome. They've done a podcast per U2 album, I think. Bono played them 3 tracks from Songs Of Experience and something from some side project. Off the air, of course. The interview begins about 38 minutes in.

Results - I rented this on iTunes a month ago and I enjoyed it for the most part. It's an "indie" romantic comedy centered around personal training. Guy Pearce runs a local gym and Kevin Corrigan comes in looking to get healthier. Corrigan plays a real weird guy that has a lot of money and his wife left him. Cobie Smulders winds up taking on Corrigan as a client at his house for personal training. The film caught me off guard with the shifting focal point of the characters & their relationships with each other. I won't spoil what that is though. It's not something that I'd ever watch again

Who will be the 1st VCer to do a post show review from Periscope? -
I found this cut last week and now I can't find it again on YouTube. I did find one that is 2 hrs 50 minutes from Australian TV. Look up Superman Salkind Cut 1982 Part 1 & you can find Part 2 in the Suggestions next to it. Damn! I wish that I subscribed to that guy's channel. I checked IMDB and nothing. Someone from the UK is selling the ABC cut on eBay. I'm not sure which region the DVD is. I do remember how big Sunday nights were in the 80s with such premieres of big time motion pictures. I'm not sure if Superman was on HBO, before the ABC run. 4 years seems like a long time to wait.

I was listening to a live stream of a local sports radio show here in Boston and that's how they broke the news and they kept the same wording in the 60 second news of the day.
-
The pieces that he got might bring Detroit a title. Or they obviously might not amount to nothing. One of the more bizarre business aspects of this sport. I know that a lot of people out here in Boston don't even mention Dan Duquette's name for their 2004 title, but he was responsible for a good portion of the important players for that team. Daniel Norris pitched very well on Sunday.
-
The news now is that he resigned. Take that for what you will. A very interesting turn of events in Detroit. He sold off a lot of big pieces and now he's gone. It'll be interesting to see where he gravitates to.

In the replies to Jon Morosi's tweet, a lot of people pondered that he'll be heading somewhere else. https://twitter.com/jonmorosi/status/628658996187152384

Dave Dombrowski replaced by Al Avila as Tigers' GM.

I was unable to download Star Wars which is obviously much shorter than this concert to my iPhone due to the inability to unzip files. I don't think that either device that you mentioned can unzip the files, unless if you've had luck before with other shows etc.

There was a ton of activity this year. MLBTradeRumors.com is a mess right now to sort through everything from today.

My goal is to put a record player in my car.

Yankees are getting OF/2B Dustin Ackley from Seattle. I'm surprised that Seattle hasn't unloaded a bit more. Tigers trade Joakim Soria to Pirates for SS JaCoby Jones. Brewers finally trade Carlos Gomez to Astros for 4 prospects (2 OF & 2 pitchers). Reds send Mike Leake to Giants for a pair of minor leaguers.

U2's Innocence & Experience Tour Doc to premiere on HBO Nov 7th. And U2's Paris show on Nov 14th will be broadcast live on HBO. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/u2-to-air-innocence-show-behind-the-scenes-doc-on-hbo-20150730 Longtime U2 fansite, atU2.com, threw a 20th anniversary party last night in NYC at The Cutting Room and they had Unforgettable Fire, U2 tribute band, perform some rare cuts. Well, after the crowd mingled for awhile, they thought that their eyes were playing tricks on them. The Edge & Adam Clayton joined the tribute band on Where The Streets Have No Name and

Do you like what they got for Price? We'll see how Daniel Norris turns out for Detroit. 3 aces in the rotation means nothing as we saw last year with the Tigers-Orioles ALDS. And let's not forget that the A's lost the Wild Card game with Jon Lester too. Oh, and K.C. traded Joe Blanton to Pittsburgh.
-
The question is will he be a 2 month or 3 month rental? I completely see this move as a 2016 fixture, but they're 2 GB in the Wild Card & 7GB in East. Price is also 7-0 at Rogers Centre. Kudos to Dombrowski for hanging by the telephone. Cespedes seems next to go & the market for him should be the crazy "trade" that fell apart last night. Mets were about to send Wilmer Flores & Zack Wheeler to Brewers for Carlos Gomez, but Mets were concerned about Gomez' hip. Flores was emotional as he was taken out of the game. It was a real roller coaster: you're going no actually you're staying.

I just saw a Jeff Tweedy tweet from yesterday that said that his favorite movie about the music biz is Phantom Of The Paradise. Strangely enough I just saw this at my local record store and it was brand new on Blu-ray. Early Brian DePalma. I almost made a blind purchase, but figured it'd be on NetFlix at some point. https://twitter.com/JeffTweedy/status/625794516109275136 Ha! From those tweets it looks like Judd Apatow replied to Tweedy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9yof8cwli4&feature=youtu.be I'm hooked! I just watched the trailer for it and I love that 70s visual aesthetic of real

It was 88 & 89 and there was another one done in 90 that ended the series officially. The guy that played Sallah in Indiana Jones played Kingpin, I think. It should be on YouTube.

I watched some of the Spider-Man reruns in the mid 80s on a channel that used to play them on Saturday afternoons. I didn't like how he used to only catch garden variety criminals. I guess his wide net of super villains was off limits. I also remember the made for TV Incredible Hulk movies that brought in Thor & Daredevil. The next thing that I want to find on YouTube is the 3hr 8 min Salkind cut of Superman that was shown on ABC in 1982.

Dodgers acquire Mat Latos & Michael Morse from the Marlins. Hmm. Are they out of the Hamels sweepstakes? If there was a VC like button, I would for the image above this post.
