  1. The one thing that I left out was a biggie: You really can't discuss things with a rock critic. I'm assuming they all have a place to post a comment, but how many people do they respond to? Now around here you can discuss things and have a two way conversation. To me that's much better.
  2. I still don't get why people need to read so many reviews. Who really cares what some rock critic thinks? I enjoy the song and I'm sure that you either do or you don't. I don't need to sit down and read a rock critic who uses a template with a mad lib strategy of nauseating adjectives and adverbs that only certain people use in that profession. I can kind of understand following the narrative of how a band gets criticism upon a new release, but it feels like someone else's version of a soap opera. "Oh, I can't believe that they didn't like this album, but really liked that other that I hate
  3. Not having to take a shit in the dungeon (MoCa downstairs bathroom). Seriously, that place was like 100 degrees. It was nice to hide out in for the rain, but that's about it.
  4. There was a thread for that last Friday with the same info that you have. No song given yet. Live From Nowhere Near You VC Thread Hey, is that Qadafi on the cover on the right?
  5. Well, they did "rise from the ashes of Uncle Tupelo" so cut them some slack.
  6. You'd be surprised! I had this older drunk gentleman talking my ear off last night after the fireworks. He said that we should invade Mexico before "they all come over here" and carpet bomb Iran. I asked him "what about the innocent civilians?" He replied, "well, we can tell them to duck. Can't we?" Anyways, he mentioned that we should invade Canada and push all of the Canadians out of their houses and take over their country. His two big concerns were: 1) who is going to push the button when the Mexicans take over? He kept saying that the "pols" would walk out of their jobs and the Army
  7. I'm just happy that Kiss didn't make their stupid list. Oops! OK. Just noticed that I skipped over the high 20s.
  8. Nope. Not for awhile. In case you weren't aware, but the Decepticons really destroyed the shit out of Chicago. Although, the Marina Towers were left mostly unharmed. Maybe Star Scream is a Wilco fan. They made Marshall Field's look like Filene's Basement.
  9. Well, I looked it up on Live Nation, Ticketmaster and Citi Center which houses the Wang Theatre website and saw no such info. Now when I clicked on one of those blue shaded websites that always look sketchy it showed that price, but said "tickets may be sold above face value". Whoever runs that site (and it's not the Wang) is already probably getting ready to sell GA tickets that they will somehow "mysteriously" get. It also shows a quantity of 6 - 8 tickets only. Mystery Website The only price that I've seen is for the Montreal show: $46.05 (CA $39.50 Ticket + CA $6.55 Fees) {this was un
  10. I love stuff like this. Edit: I found an error. A Shot In The Arm is not listed for June 25th.
  11. According to Wilco via Facebook all on sale info will be made available sometime next week. AND West Coast later this year or early next year. Those were responses to various people "complaining" that their city wasn't shown yet, so it may be a bit tough to find that if you just look at the status updates. Edit: Someone mentioned an appearance on either Letterman or Fallon. I'm thinking they might be on SNL for their first episode back from the summer hiatus (sept 24).
  12. I also see Johnny 5!!!! But with one droopy eyelid. I wonder if Fisher Stevens will be thanked in the liner notes?
  13. I came across a site this a.m. that listed an On Sale date of Saturday July 16th for the Madison, WI show. {Can't find the link now, of course.} Madison, WI On Sale Info Maybe it's the same date for every show.
  14. Is anyone else reminded of a film projector when they look at the new album art?
  15. The first and only time that I've seen them do the song (seen about 20 shows now) was last April in Boston and that was webcast. It really works in an arena or theater setting.
  16. EGAD!!! This is all happening so quick! I told my buddy that couldn't make it to Solid Sound to expect Wilco at either the Wang or Agganis in September. Not a bad call. Very happy that Boston wasn't skipped considering they just did 2 nights in Western Mass (which is like its own state.)
  17. The last album leaked in mid May when I was finishing up finals in grad school And that album wasn't due out until very late June, so.....time will tell.
  18. LOL. The one day I decide to skip Facebook. Excellent news. Should we place bets on the amount of tracks? I'm going to say 16.
  19. Is it bad that I can't tell the difference between man-boobs and real boobs? Some of these are really questionable.
  20. How do I put this? To me all of the new material feels like it came from the same batch a la making Toll House cookies. It is really tough to distinguish between the new tracks except for Born Alone and I Might. Now when I listened to WIlco (The Album) the first time I could tell apart each track upon a few listens. There's something very similar about these tracks. Maybe it's the keyboards/organ sound? I don't know, but I'm still sticking to my Summerteeth meets Sky Blue Sky/Wilco (The Album) sound. AND this doesn't mean that I don't like the tracks. I enjoy them, but need to get to kno
  21. It was just announced that it is Dropkick Murphys and Mighty Bosstones. Don't have it in me to add some more Mightys. I'm kind of happy that it isn't Pearl Jam. I saw The Police there and sat at the 1st base line and had an ok time. I spent most of the time watching the screens and felt far away. It was interesting though because Pearl Jam did in fact have those 3 days off during their tour in September.
  22. Black Moon - the spectral ballad = according to that Spin article or was it Rolling Stone? Who knows!? They all plagiarize from each other all the time. LOL
