  1. Me...I vacilate between being a Timocrat and a Monarchist. But we all should realize we now live in a videocracy.

  6. Things are deteriorating very rapidly as this campaign draws to a close. One side accuses the other of associating with terroritsts and the other side predicts race and class war if their candidate loses. This is fascinating. Politics is the original blood sport. I have been enthralled with watching this thing unfold since New Hampshire (McCain making his comeback and Hillary making the Democratic nomination a two horse race). As things continue to spiral, we should remember that we all have a vested interest in the success of WHOEVER is the winner of this election. We tend to margin
  7. I've looked under chairs I've looked under tables I've tried to find the key To fifty million fables They call me The Seeker I've been searching low and high I won't get to get what I'm after Till the day I die I asked Bobby Dylan I asked The Beatles I asked Timothy Leary But he couldn't help me either They call me The Seeker I've been searching low and high I won't get to get what I'm after Till the day I die People tend to hate me 'Cause I never smile As I ransack their homes They want to shake my hand Focusing on nowhere Investigating miles I'm a seeker I'm a really desperate man
  8. Welcome. At least now I won't be the only Texas Ranger's fan.
  9. Like I posted somewhere before... No matter how much money you have and how much you ride the lightening, if you are married you will eventually be reduced to carrying her shopping bag.
  10. A-man...do you not see the irony of posting of a fund raiser show where "The cheap seats ...were $500. Big spenders could shell out $25,000 each" in a thread titled Free Springsteen Show 10/4/08? Sometimes you are so hidebound about this thread stuff that hiliarity ensues.
  11. What's amazing is McCoy had one more incompletion than he did touchdown passes. 29 of 32...absolutely amazing. Only 37 incompletions FOR THE SEASON. Amazing. Texas will have another tough game next week against Okie state.
  12. My lord but that ballpark in Tampa is one serious piece of shit.
  13. With the money from her accident She bought herself a mobile home So at least she could get some enjoyment Out of being alone No one could say that she was left up on the shelf Its you and me against the world kid she mumbled to herself When the world falls apart some things stay in place Levi Stubbs tears run down his face She ran away from home with her mothers best coat She was married before she was even entitled to vote And her husband was one of those blokes The sort that only laughs at his own jokes The sort that war takes away And when there wasnt a war he left her anyway When

  17. Just rediscovered A couple of these songs sound absolutely timeless...so familiar. As though I have been hearing them for ages... Broken lines, broken strings, Broken threads, broken springs, Broken idols, broken heads, People sleeping in broken beds. Ain't no use jiving Ain't no use joking Everything is broken. Broken bottles, broken plates, Broken switches, broken gates, Broken dishes, broken parts, Streets are filled with broken hearts. Broken words never meant to be spoken, Everything is broken. Seem like every time you stop and turn around Something else just hit the ground
