  1. I hope not....seen too many people get ruined by that stuff.
  2. "Joey" by some broad. "Wang Chung" by ??? "Poison Arrow" by I have no idea.
  3. "Priceless" with Audrey Tautou. Decent comedy with the added bonus of Audrey being so incredibly sexy.
  4. I quit my job in the summer of 94 to go on a 40 day jaunt out West with the girlfriend (now wife). Put 7000 miles on her Honda while visiting a whole bunch of national parks, the Rainbow Gathering and family. Tent camped almost the entire time. One the best times of my life.
  5. I couldnt wait for TWBB to be over. I thought it to be ponderous, overwrought, just a bloated mess.
  6. Sadly, I've seen more "big" shows there than anywhere else but I'm headed there on May 5th fer sure.
  7. Here's a NYE story posted on another site........ "It is December 31st, 1988, and still I have no ticket for tonight's New Year's Eve Grateful Dead show, the final night of an abbreviated three-night run. Having figured that two shows are better than none, I hopped in the communal Ford van and (after a detour to a hot tub in Eugene, Oregon) came down from Seattle for the festivities of the 28th and 29th. One of the guys who came down with us (RIP, Daniel) had an extra New Year's Eve ticket, but he seemed intent on bartering it in exchange for as much money as possible. I had since
  8. I'm surprised by the lack of love "Freedom" has gotten so far. Maybe I have a fond spot for it because I saw Neil spotlight the album at Poplar Creek before it came out--playing a whole bunch of new tunes off the album........and I managed to get a pretty good AUD recording of the show too (just Neil for most of the show....I think Poncho and Ralph Molina backed him up on a few tunes). Whatever the case, "Freedom" gets on the player way more than "Ragged Glory".
  9. I dont think Netflix has it, dang it.
  10. "The Godfather" by Mario Puzo It reads almost like a screenplay.
  11. "Secret Agent Super Dragon".........another MST3K thingy.
  12. I had a similar experience.......throwing darts in a pals garage, I could not miss........someone would say hit #5 and I would. Hit the bullseye.......bingo! Hit double 3, no problem. Best night of darts evah!!
  13. Live Dead made an appearance on the turntable last weekend.
  14. Great idea! I saw a lot of great bands there from Uncle Tupelo to the Blake Babies to Pavement (slanted n enchanted tour) to Sea & Cake. I remember standing in line, trying to get in for the last day they were open and giving up....line was too darn long and it was cold outside. So we saw American Beauty at the 3 Penny instead.
  15. "Ooooo-oooo Black Betty bam-a-lam!" "Sky rockets in flight, afternoon delight" "Yummy yummy yummy I got love in my tummy" "Your so vain, you probably think this song is about you" Those tunes helped me formalize my worldview.
  16. Eating more lentils. I can eat lunch for a week on $5 dollars of lentils, veggies and spices.
  17. Found this on a GD related site.........thought I'd share.... Echoes and Reverberations: The Night of the Tripping Dead The 11th grade Biology teacher once shared this insightful observation aimed specifically at those of us with long hair: "Sons, this country is divided into three groups of people: the people who shower before work (re: white collar workers); the people who shower after work (see "blue collar"); and the people who don't shower at all because they just don't want to work. Thirty years ago this month, a band called the Grateful Dead came to Dallas and did a co
  18. Yesterday, Rod brought the Republic Window people rice cakes and water. The man is clearly out of his mind.
