Short answer: Yes. Long answer: It's a rare treat to see Wilco at (arguably) their commercial height playing a venue that holds ~1350. Seeing them in 2006 at The Barrymore in Madison (cap. ~970) was astounding. When the crowd is so close to the band, as it will be at The Pabst, they really feed off of each other and a truly memorable experience will commence. The Pabst is also one of THE best sounding venues in the country (IMO). Make the trip--you'll regret it if you don't.

Scroll up. I got 2 in row C and someone else pulled 3 in row D. But I've seen tickets as far back as row V as I've been pulling them up, so I'd reckon that a lot of people got tickets but haven't said anything.

That's the 7th row. Anything in the first 20 rows on the floor are good seats. There really are no bad seats in the Pabst because the place is TINY. Also, I just pulled a 3rd row ticket for the first night

HELL, and let me also add, YES! I have never, ever read about or attended a show at the Pabst that was GA...until I looked around at the Pabst's webpage. I don't know whether to hope for GA or for reserved seats...

I have yet to check my syllabi to see if I have exams for the Milwaukee shows....I really, really, REALLY don't want to look because I'm so excited right now!!! UPDATE: I have to present a research paper on Wednesday...no biggie. Looks like two days of Wilco glory before finals!!! And here's the ocular proof of these shows.

Did anyone else nearly shit themselves when Billy Joe Armstrong started the winner with "R-r-r-r"? But, even though it's a great album (Robert and Allison), the Grammys once again prove themselves useless with awards. Yet, this year's ceremony was definitely exciting and fun.

I think the rest of the band didn't want to travel because 1) they really have no shot at album of the year (let's face it, we all know it's going to Robert & Allison) and 2) they have families they'd rather be with. Those are two pretty good reasons I reckon. As for the performance, it was better than I expected; and Thom looked like he was having a lot of fun!

I'm immensely curious: did this actually work with the timing or did you get a really cool echo effect?

You know the set is coming, but I'll do some highlights for you: -Fake Plastic Trees. It's my favorite song of all time and I requested it though wilcoworld. I will be smiling for days and days. -Two songs at the end at the front of the stage: Someone Else's Song and Acuff Rose -Only one new song, the one Paul has been calling Everlasting Everything. I'm so glad to see Fake Plastic Trees on there (I totally requested it for the Saturday show!). But that does look a little short. If my wilcobasing is accurate, this is the first time outside of Lounge Ax that he's played Kingpin solo. Very nice. And is it the second time Impossible Germany has been done solo? Also very nice. Get pumped people....these shows could be better than we'd hoped!

I haven't seen anything posted about this, and I'm a little surprised. This is a great collection of unreleased/new material that was put together by Aaron and Bryce Dessner of The National to benefit the Red Hot Organization. They have been previewing one song from it every day on MySpace for the last couple weeks, and will continue until February 14th. There are some AMAZING tracks on here from all your favorite "indie" bands. The song today is from Sufjan and it blew me away. It sounds like something off of Thom Yorke's new solo album. I'm so excited for the show tomorrow in Madison. My last exam for the semester is from 2:45-4:45 (on synoptic-scale atmospheric dynamics for those playing along at home) then I jump on the #3 bus, grab dinner at the restaurant I work at, and then head across the street for music that is appropriate for a foot of fresh snowfall. IATTBYH -> Spiders Awesome! I cannot wait to hear this. A quick scan of Wilcobase confirms this is only the second time this transition has happened. So, I should ask those that were at the show, was this as spectacular as I'm making it out to be in my head? Because these are two of the most spectacular live songs they have, and the way IATTBYH dissolves into nothingness and Spiders rises out of the noise and smoke into a chugging 12 minute anthem...wow. Thoughts?

Oh so many times have I been in there....It had become my go-to place for CDs when I was home visiting my mom. I am a little surprised it's not getting enough business given its location. The UWM campus is RIGHT there, and they did a well enough job of bring kids from the burbs (like me) into the city. At least I can stop in a few times over winter break and grab some bargain stock.
