look out beloooooooooooooow

I'm so pumped to be going to all 3. I have a new method for getting hard to get tickets from ticketmaster....6 computers sitting on my dining room table, 6 cups of coffee before. It worked because the first ticket I pulled was for 4th row PIT for Sunday. It's actually more like 2nd row because I'm one seat from the stage. The first 2 nights I'm amongst the first 10 rows. This is going to be nothing short of amazing. The perfect thing to do 24 hours after my last final and one week before road-trippin out to LA to say farewell to Bob Barker.

Anyone still have that?

KID A is just edging out YHF for my top spot. There is not one weak song on either album (and all you Treefingers haters--it's a necessary transition song into the isle of despair that are the next 2 songs). I can just put the CD on (or vinyl for Kid A) and sit back and enjoy. That's how I actually got into Wilco; I read a review by David Fricke that said YHF was "radiohead on cow-pies". I wonder if 2 albums that came out when I was 14 are going to be my favorites for life...

I bet that's exactly what's going to happen too. But that song just doesn't fit with the overall mood of the album. It's more soft and delecate and slow-hand bluesy. I will say this....I always am screaming along to it on my moped ride into campus. One of my favs.

Anyone in Chicago want to put me up for that weekend???

One could only hope.....

THIS RECORDING IS AMAZING. Soundboard quality. I am forever in debt to the taper because I can actually hear myself yelling things between songs and even singing on Hummingbird. But seriously....thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you

Awesome show. Wilco never cease to amaze me. One new new song (Devil in My Thoughts??) which had to be stopped and restarted because it has a funky rhythm. Sunken Treasure still can bring down the house with a full band. It was nice seeing ms yvon, bri, and all those other people in front of me and my sister. One of you guys has the full set, so I'll let you do it. I still can't get over shaking Tweedy's hand during Humminbird....my personal highlight. Oh, and in case you were wondering, WALKEN IS THE ROCKINGEST SONG EVER!!!!!! What. a. night.

Hey, everyone should eat at Monty's which is RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE VENUE....and I work there and know the food and atmosphere rocks the shit. My little sister's coming up for the show and I'm hoping this one will be better than my last Wilco (actually, Tweedy, but close enough) experience.

If only Richards would have LOOKED TO THE COOKIE, all of this could have been avoided.

Wisconsin voters make me so angry right now...(no offense). Doyle--YAY! Tammy I gave a scone when she came into the restaurant I work at and she rocks. But...come on you conservative mo-fos...open your minds.

I'm glad it's labeled that way because it's how I got into Wilco 4 or 5 years ago. I was just learning about Radiohead and consuming everything they had ever done, and that was one of the songs I downloaded. The rest is history!

Oh yea, there was definitely a taper in a PRIME position with a fantastic rig. I'm surprised they didn't break that in half too

Brilliant show tonight. I don't think I could have imagined a better setlist. Box Full of Letters made a surprise appearance, Dreamer in My Dreams blew me away, and the highlight was almost shedding a tear during Sunken Treasure. Jeff was in top form as far as bantar goes. I was SO happy he put that asshole fratboy "WHOO"-er in his place at the end of the show. I was in the front row and estatically happy.... .....until security confiscated my camera after Not for the Season because I was supposedly taking a video. So, later in the show, the gave it back to me, except the memory card w

Gotta love the sense of humor opening up with this one....

I've been to the Pabst many times for many different events, and I can honestly say that there are no bad seats on the first 2 floors. Once you get on the third floor you have problems.
-
Did anyone else get tickets in the double lettered rows? I feel so all alone....

FRONT ROW TICKETS TO MILWAUKEE!!!!! This just made my day (soon to be unmade when I take my physics exam).

From the official setlist: Shot in the Arm Impossible Germany IATTBYH What Light Late Greats Handshake Drugs Via Chicago Let's Fight War on War Jesus, Etc. Heavy Metal Drummer Walken ITMWLY Hummingbird Wonderful, amazing, energetic show. It definitely felt like Wilco was at home and comfortable. Lots of smiles from Jeff, lots of love from the massive audience. Definitely worth sprinting in the morning and standing all day to be right up front.

[BT] Wilco 2006-07-05 Summerfest; Milwaukee, WI, US

Thank you, thank you, thank you -
Yep! I snagged an official setlist (and my memorty can confirm the order too seeing as how I was probably one of the only sober people around me). Funny thing--they write out 'Impossible Germany' on the setlist, yet keep everything else down to a couple words. As for a quiet crowd, it was loud and obnoxious up front....full Summerfest experience.

So the night was amazing. Jeff was in a very jovial mood as his family watched from the right side of the stage. Too many quotes to list right now, but each band member got his name chanted, a girl threw a bouquet of flowers on the stage after 'Forget the Flowers', and during the encore breaks, the crowd chanted "Ole! Ole, ole, ole...." as per Jeff's world cup comment earlier. Here's the set... Ashes of American Flags Handshake Drugs The Late Greats IATTBYH Impossible Germany Airline to Heaven Forget the Flowers ALTWYS Jesus, etc. Walken Theologians ITMWLY HMD Kingpin Hummingbird --------

There are random things here, so bear with me: First, does anyone know if they soundcheck all the time? I get there at 6am everyday for work and hear groups check all the time and I think it would be pretty cool to sit and watch the guys set up and get loose. Second, for the life of me, I can't remember the sound guy's name (even though I should....Stan?). It may be pertainent if the first thing pans out. Finally, if anyone reading this wants to get some gooooood food down there, stop by The Venice Club and look for me. The food, as the name implies, is Italian, and includes pizza and

I'm a huge fan of Bangers 'N Mash and Arpeggi...but Bodysnatchers blows them all away (not to mention it's friggin sweet to play on guitar!) I got very lucky and I'll be seeing them both nights in Chicago from the second row of the first balcony. Well, lucky is the wrong word because I camped out overnight outisde the Auditorium Theatre the night before tix went on sale. Only 16 short days........
