1. In the mid 90's when I was in law school, I was a big fan of a certain radio show on the local college's student radio station that played alt- and traditional country tunes. They played Box Full of Letters just about every week for about 3 months in a row and I fell in love with that song. I bought AM, loved it from the first listen, and have been a fan since. 2. First show was Kalamazoo State Theater in 2004 I think (the winter aGIB tour) . . . and it blew me away. That was the tour with the video screen and they opened the show with Via Chicago. Talk about starting the night off

I hope Congresswoman Regina Bookman (D-RI) doesn't learn about this.

Was it not these very people who tried to make her go to rehab and she said No, No, No?

Finished The Adventures of Tom Sawyer last week and am now onto The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. I recently got The Works of Mark Twain for my Kindle, and I will say it is the best 99 cents I ever spent - 8 novels, 5 collections of stories, 6 travel books and memoirs, and 5 books of essays, speeches and letters.

Wow, after reading that, I'm actually looking forward to the fall for a reason other than the start of the college football season.

The obvious question that everyone has avoided asking at this point is this: Will Yoko be responsible for the breakup of another band? Breaking up the Beatles, I can almost excuse her for that, but if she breaks up the most stable version of Wilco ever, well, I just might have to get upset about that.

I saw him at the Nectarine Ballroom my freshman year at U of M in the early 80's. That might have been the last time I paid any attention to him. He does write some catch pop tunes, if that is your cup of tea. And I always heard that he played Paul in Beatlemania.

I am excited that you met these two, but the title of this thread is a little creepy, dontcha think? -
I think any song played by ? and the Mysterians should count as a questionable song.

Wow, it's like you are my Bizzaro world Superman . . . I thought Cee-Lo's performance was atrocious and what you call earnest I considered intense. Different strokes for different folks.

I seriously think that Babs thought the Album of the Year was Arcade Fire by the hot indie band The Suburbs. Mumford & Sons had the best performance of any act . . . until Arcade Fire took the stage. Those freakin' bmx bikers couldn't ruin that performance for me. Wow. When the Grammy president gave his little spiel about standing up for artist's rights to express themselve, yadayadayada, my initial thought was why did you make Ceeloo sing the santized version of what should have won song of the year?

Someone needs to tell the author of the original e-mail that Al Gore, a liberal, invented the internet. That will get them off the net and free up some bandwith for the rest of us progressive, red, panty-waist liberals.

Jeopardy Forum discussion with tonight's Q&A I may have actually done better than I thought - If the "Smith" answer was guessed at the correct time, I think I got 41 39 correct.
-
Anyone take the test tonight? I must be getting dumber as I age . . . I left two completely blank, and on two others I put in "Smith" and "Jones" on the hope that since they are common names that I might catch a break. Good luck to anyone who takes it tomorrow or Thursday.

Not sure if this really counts, but as I was shovelling the 10"-15" of snow that fell overnight while listening to my i-pod, I heard a bunch of birds chirping. I thought I lost my mind until I realized that "Summerteeth" came up on shuffle.

I finished Freedom about a week ago, and I'm still amazed at how much I enjoyed the book although many of the characters were rather unlikeable to varying degrees.

That was a fine display of pre-RichRod Michigan football by Stanford last night. Too bad Hardballs is probably going to the 49er's. All Hail Brady Hoke. GO BLUE!
