  1. EP #3, 'Vagabond Skies,' was released the other day! anyone listen to it yet? honestly, I think the first release, 'Could We Survive' has been the best so far but it looks like the majority of folks are torn b/w EPs 2 and 3. oh, for those diehard Joseph Arthur fans, which is prolly only me and like 1-2 others, he's selling some silk screen'd tee-shirts on his website for $40.00 each. they look pretty cool. here's the link for the guys: http://josepharthur.store-08.com/browse/men.php and for the ladies: http://josepharthur.store-08.com/browse/ladies.php
  2. you guys have some really cool lists and brought to my attention some albums I had forgotten while compiling my list. man, this was like the hardest things I've ever done but here's my list, I think: 1. The Doors- L.A. Woman 2. The Magnetic Fields- 69 Love Songs 3. Wilco- Yankee Hotel Foxtrot 4. Joseph Arthur- Redemption's Son 5. Nick Drake- Pink Moon 6. Bob Dylan- Blood On The Tracks 7. Ryan Adams And The Cardinals- Cold Roses 8. Fionn Regan- The End Of History 9. Wilco- A Ghost Is Born 10. Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers- Full Moon Fever 11. Cake- Prolonging The Magic 12. Johnny Cash- Amer
  3. has anyone checked out this album yet? I picked it up the other day and am very impressed with it. there's a couple of sinkers, or growers, on it but the majority of the tunes are great. "Will It Grow" is such a great song! but now everytime I listen to "Something Good This Way Comes," I think of Curious George...
  4. I was wearing my Wilco truckers hat, back when they were all the rage, and it caught the attention of this very pretty girl. she commented on it saying, "Did you see Wilco last month?" and I was like, "Oh, I didn't know they were here, how did I miss them?!" come to find out, she got Wilco confused with the Bright Eyes. we didn't talk after that.
  5. sorry, didn't specify what I meant in my previous post. Jakob isn't overshadowed by a huge cloud of Bob Dylan. the majority of famous musician's kids who attempt to follow in their parent's footsteps usually get swallowed by the image of their parents, but Jakob has seemed to dodge that and has forged his own path. also, you don't see Bob tooting his son's horn. its almost like he threw Jakob out into the ocean of music and prayed that he could learn to swim in it.
  6. the 3 songs I've heard from this album are fantastic! especially "Something Good This Way Comes." I thinks its really amazing that Jakob Dylan has become so big on his own without advertising the fact that Bob Dylan is his dad. that takes real talent.
  7. I kinda enjoyed the film. it was odd but in a good way. I've been searching for the soundtrack as well but can't seem to find it. every cd shop around here carried it up until about a year ago, when I became interested in owning it, lol. have you tried searching for it on any download sites like itunes or emusic?
  8. me either! I'm kind of glad that they're focusing on this period of his career as opposed to his earlier stuff. I, for one, have yet to dabble in outtakes from these years so whatever they decide to release will likely be new to me.
  9. Screaming Infidelities by Dashboard Confessional. don't knock me for liking him, his first acoustic album was the shiz back in high school, like it was the shiz to say 'shiz' back then too.
  10. who cares about Obama? there's a new bootleg series coming out soon! tho it would be cool if its release date would coincide with Obama's inauguration.
  11. from what I understand, the 'quick trimmings' are referring to the guy's decision to remove all of Bennett's contributions to the album and replace them with recently recorded overdubs by the current line-up.
  12. thanks for posting this, it made for a nice read. now I think Wilco should cover 'Yea! Heavy and a Bottle of Bread.'
  13. I'm shocked no one has mentioned this yet. It looks like the Pogues have just released their very own boxed set. Here's the details: Pogue's Box Set
  14. man, these shows are great! thank you to everyone in charge of recording these shows and getting them to us in such a timely manner. I especially love having the scroll down menu from which to pick songs from, nice addition
  15. War on War is one of the band's best songs I think. wait, every song is one of their best but War on War ranks higher than some of the others. oh wow, Andrew Bird is here tonight!
  16. then after the audience leaves the venue, Wilco will come back out and play another 1.5 hour set for us
  17. the Wilco tech gods won't let us down, have faith
  18. no. maybe we met at some shows but I'm not good with names. I'm still amazed at the fact that more than 1 Wilco fan lives here haha.
  19. when I meet a new girl, its always 'New Morning,' when it doesn't work out b/w us, its always 'Blood on the Tracks.' for everyday inspiration I turn to 'Blonde on Blonde.' the lyrics on this album are some of the best lyrics ever set to music, I mean, what else compares to, "...he just smoked my eyelids and punched my cigarette?"
  20. for those of you who haven't noticed, JA has a new blog at: www.josepharthur.tumblr.com which is updated nearly everyday with unreleased songs, paintings, and misc. pics. JA must live in a realm where the avearge day consists of 48 hours...I don't see how else he puts out all of this material.
  21. Wilco should def. try and get Joseph Arthur to open for them again. JA's band, the Lonely Astronauts will be releasing their next album around that time and they live in Brooklyn! what a show that would be!
