  1. they still had some left when I bought mine before leaving, while the band was playing 'Hoodoo Voodoo.' hopefully any extras will pop-up in the online store soon. I was really shocked to see that they were selling vinyl myself. I picked-up Bon Iver's LP in Cary.
  2. watching that little boy playing 'Shot in the Arm' is the coolest thing I've ever seen. I know zero 7 year olds who can play guitar, much less any 7 year olds who dig Wilco.
  3. ha, I work at Food Lion too. pretty much everytime they play 'Impossible Germany,' Nels' solo gets interrupted by an ad.
  4. oops, posted this in the wrong section, so just moved it here! my friend and I ducked out of the show early since he wasn't feeling well and wanted to avoid the traffic. we left after 'Hoodoo Voodoo' so hopefully we didn't miss much . the concert itself was wild! I haven't seen Wilco in 2 years so I don't know if they've just gotten bigger, or if Cary is just home to tons of raging Wilco fans. everyone was singing along with each and every song. some highlights were 'Shot in the Arm,' and 'Pot Kettle Black.' we totally nailed the clapping part during 'Spiders' which I thought was gonna f
  5. that was me, sorry. jk. I was actually wearing my Armani Pine Tree cologne. I smelled good, at least Tweedy thought so.
  6. heck yea...another reason to go to NYC. how's The Tallest Man on Earth? never heard them.
  7. I like the first 3 songs, the rest of the album has yet to grow on me. like Bubs said, a lot of it seems fillery.
  8. they play more 'Shot in the Arm' than 'IATTBYH?"
  9. were you the dude who asked if his harmony sounded good, or the one who told Tweedy that it was his b-day?
  10. hope you dig it! it took me a while to get into the album for some reason. at first, I thought the songs were to sparse and I couldn't understand a word he said. it wasn't until after I read the lyrics that everything clicked. looking foward to seeing him just about as much as I'm looking foward to seeing Wilco next Friday.
  11. Hibernian is an excellent restaurant/ Euro-styled pub, guess its supposed to be Irish. They serve an excellent Reuben sandwich I could eat every day of the week. sadly, there's really not much to do around here, the night life is next to non-existent. we do have a Walmart with a McDonald's in it next to Kokoa Booth/ Regency Park if anyone wants to meet up there for a Big Mac and Diet Coke!
  12. being a Doors fan my entire life, I had somehow managed to avoid this band but decided to pick up this CD the other day at Borders and am highly impressed! pity Arthur Lee didn't gain mythical status like his contemporaries, then again, he outlived them all so maybe that explains why he didn't. anyone ever hear how Jim Morrison stole both Lee's style AND girlfriend? hahah, good times.
  13. Spoiler don't read if you still haven't seen the film... I agree with this. It made me wonder if they did, in fact, finish filming this film before Ledger's death. The last scene w/ Joker was so anti-climatic I actually waited in the theatre for the credits to finish to see what, if anything, else happened. Don't get me wrong, still loved the movie and plan to see it again next weekend, the ending just kind of flopped.
  14. 'Cars Can't Escape' is #4! this is more exciting than the Presidental nominations. I admire the person(s) voting for 'More Like the Moon.' would love to hear that one as well.
  15. I just voted for 'Cars Can't Escape' and its currently in 5th place! wasn't sure, up til now, how this song request thingy worked but its kinda neat. edit- if they pick your specific request, will they introduce you and your story before they play it? that would be totally awkward
  16. awesome story. you remind me of me..getting into weird situations for kicks then kicking yourself over them later on. c'est la vie!
  17. I think 'Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands' has got to be one of Dylan's most romantic, heartfelt songs he has written. I can see how it would turn some people off but the imagery it evokes is worth the occasional 11:00 listen for me. I really only listen to it when I get the warm fuzzies over a girl I just met or something, followed by 'Sara' when things end up not working out
  18. I'm hyped about that 'Mississippi' outtake from the TOOM sessions. that song woulda fit in perfectly with TOOM but its a good thing that they saved if for L&T as it helped save that album from being a complete disaster. don't get me wrong, I still like L&T but it def. ain't the best Dylan album.
  19. I just discovered this song. its nice!
