  1. Cut and Copy's 'In Ghost Colours.' this album is growing on me at an alarming rate
  2. the first EP is out now! I gotta say, its def. a return to his old form. Even tho I liked 'Let's Just Be' quite a bit, its great to hear him return to a more structured, mellow'd sound. there should be some sound clips up on his main page if anyone's interested. also, the next EP, 'Crazy Rain' is up for preorder on www.josepharthur.com. for $20 you get 2 copies of the EP (gotta share the music with a buddy) and a cool art print of JA's. he's also doing a solo show on the 4/24 at his art gallery in Brooklyn to promote the next EP...anyone up for a roadtrip?
  3. I saw him back in Raleigh in '05 and wasn't a huge fan of his then but that show changed me! that and the fact that I was rambling on and on about Bob Dylan to the guy next to me before the show and Steve Earle walked out 10 minutes later and opened his set with Dylan's early version of 'Baby, Let Me Follow You Down.' t'was fate
  4. what happened to the Ryan Adams bashing? this thread started out with such hope...now its all philosophical and stuff

  6. this look pretty neat! I've always wanted to learn more about Jack Kirby. I just finished reading the New Frontier by Darwyn Cooke whose character design was heavily influenced by Kirby.
  7. she should get to work on her memoirs...now that'd be an excellent read!
  8. whoa, that's excellent! thank you for sharing it
  9. wow, that was an interesting article. imagine going to the bathroom at a Wilco show and finding a MP3 player full of never-heard-before demos and home recordings from the band . that signed vinyl thing sounds neat too. I know hardcore fans would def. throw down on stuff like that, possibly helping to off-set the amount of money lost from illegal file sharing. back in '02, Joseph Arthur released 4 vinyl EPs called 'Junkyard Hearts' and each copy was hand painted by him. now, they fetch like $500 each. stuff like this interests me and gives me hope in regards to the future of music distrib

Pittsburgh '70 clips its always a joy to get a quality soundboard show with at least one song sung by Ray Manzarek
  11. wow, quite a diverse setlist! who did the vocals on 'Lovers From the Moon?' always wondered how the album would have sounded had Stephin taken over on the vocals

  14. speaking of junkyard hearts, 3 of them are on ebay! wish i had my tax refund now mountain bed, i'm afraid i don't know who Chad is. but chances are we have crossed paths at a Wilco show or 2, i'm just bad with names

  16. oh man, i had no idea MF released a new record! i met stephin merritt in new york city earlier this year and bought him a drink that he paid for, weird story, but he's a very interesting guy.
  17. after 3 days of waiting for this bad bay to download, it finally finished this afternoon! 'handshake drugs' has to be one of the top 5 best live Wilco tracks. was it me or did it seem like the feedback duel at the end of the song is longer now? i can totally envision Tweedy and Cline adding on a longer Garica/ Weir-like jam at the end of the tune...
  18. this is a very fun thread to read! i saw the guys in Raleigh on 9/25/04. the highlight for me was seeing Joseph Arthur open the show, didn't know who he was then and hanging out by the band's bus after the show with Joseph Arthur, Joan Wasser and various members of Wilco. Jeff was nice enough to sign my beat-up copy of 'Adult Head' too! Oh and the show wasn't that bad either
