  1. Magnetic Fields- Get Lost Joseph Arthur- Nuclear Daydream this list could get quite long so I'll leave off here.
  2. I loved their EP but haven't been able to get into any of their full lenghts yet.
  3. awesome, sounds like its worth the $30-something price tag. I'm gonna be eating ramen noodles for the next year as I diligently stock-up on Dead discs.
  4. nice! stumbling across the Grateful Dead is a real treat considering the majority of 60's band were only recorded by kids with primitve recording devices. its cool to hear so many soundboards and see so many vids circulating out there. by the way, what does everyone think of the 'Closing of the Winterland' dvd? any good? would like to buy a dvd soon and this and the Grateful Dead movie are pretty much everything my local music shop has in terms of footage.

same here. everytime I hear the song, I think of a poor bird being ripped in two. I always wondered why Tweedy would write a line like that, lol.
  6. this show is my fav. at the moment, tho I just started collecting shows like 4 days ago. I also splurged and bought 'Steppin' Out' this evening, listening to it now.
  7. for those of you who don't keep up with RA's blog, yeah, I'm a nerd, check out one of his latest posts, its really beautiful (sorry bout the length):
  8. Alex Ross! this guy's body of work is nothing short of perfect. I've been following him since '95 when he did Kingdom Come, now that graphic novel would make a fabulous flick.
  9. Grateful Dead 1972-05-04 L'Olympia Paris, France how freakin' awesome is this show??
  10. my vinyl had the complete cd in it, looks like you got a rarity on your hands! what's on the cd? as for the bag, I think they should've given you one along with the vinyl when you purchased it, unless they ran out. they didn't offer me a Wilco tote bag with my Bon Iver vinyl purchase...punks.
  11. had to walk out on Wilco since the friend I brought along wasn't feeling well...
  12. I wish they would add some Doors shows to that site. Their Fillmore East '68 shows are supposed to be some of their best. Would also love to hear the Winterland '70 shows...all that circulates from those gigs are 2 songs recorded from the audience. Wolfgang was streaming the Doors performace at the Toronto Pop Festival from '69 which was in no way affiliated with Bill Graham, but Doors' management made them remove it from rotation...sorry, just had to vent.
  13. "I am standing there and he looked at me, he gave me an approval, almost, that it was OK that I was standing there." LOL.
  14. next time Wilco rolls around, I'll be attending solo.
  15. wow, this is excellent. check out Roy Acuff's 'Great Speckle Bird no. 2.' this is some good stuff!
  16. my friend wasn't feeling well and wanted to leave and I was the one driving... we left during 'Hoodoo Voodoo' so I guess it could've been worse.
  17. I totally missed that article back in that MJ glove issue, will have to dig thru my old mags and check it out. the current issue of Paste features a 1 page article and a full page pic. also, 'Flume' is included on the sampler CD.
  18. I was just rocking 'Creature Fear' on my way home from work tonight. when I'm in a bad mood, singing along to 'Skinny Love' seems to help. I get awkward stares from passer-bys.
  19. I was really starting to hate that list until I saw that the Doors were on it. now I think its a pretty good list.
  20. guess who's on the September cover of Paste?
