  1. in a recent interview, he said he deletes his blogs on purpose. talked about how things need to end and be reborn again. personally, I think he just gets into some manic ruts and feels like deleting his blog is a slap in the face to the people antagonizing him. I do the same thing which explains why I've had 15 new Myspace accounts since 2006. btw, wonder why he/ the Cardinals do not play gigs in North Carolina that much? being his hometown, you'd think he'd play here more often than he does (like once every 5 years.) ah well.
  2. Elliott Smith. back in like '03, I was going through my first Dylan obsession and was actually freaking out over all of Dylan's early, acoustic songs. I know I woulda loved Smith back then but never really heard/ paid attention to him until '07.
  3. the Elizabethtown sessions are out there now!!! haven't had a chance to listen to it yet but its rumored to be one of the best RA recording sessions ever.
  4. I'm not huge into jazz but just picked up John Coltrane's 'My Favorite Things' on vinyl for $2.98! that album is a classic!
  5. "Beauty walks a razor's edge, someday I'll make it mine." "Well, the emptiness is endless, cold as the clay You can always come back, but you can't come back all the way." "he just smoked my eyelids and punched my cigarette."
  6. how'd this thread manage to get to the dreaded 2nd page?! anyways, just got the vinyl in the mail today! anyone else get it? this is one of the coolest vinyl packages of all time with the comic book of lyrics, a 7" of bonus songs and a download coupon. if anyone is interested in getting this, you should act fast. a few online stores have been restocked but who knows how long it'll be before they sell out for good. hopefully soon so this will be worth a pretty penny in the near future.
  7. no. everyone is offering them up at the RAA but they never reply to their PMs. alas, maybe we're not meant to hear them. its kinda dumb to have to pay for the same record 2 times to get these extra songs.
  8. someone on another message board uploaded this crazy .zip file which has 55 unreleased RA songs taken from his various blogs over the past year or 2. its insane. he left out the hardcore metal songs and RA's rap attempts, however. is it cool if I post the link to it here, or is this a no-no? that is if anyone is interested.
  9. does anyone else think 'Cobwebs' could have, maybe, possibly, been inspired by Wilco? the song sounds like its an outtake from the AGIB sessions.
  10. happy belated b-day! even tho I don't know you personally, us 10-25'ers are connected in some crazy-cosmic-scorpionic type of way. hope ya had a good one!
  11. personally, 'Planet Waves' and 'New Morning' are "happy" albums for me. like, I only listen to 'em when I'm dating a girl, etc. however, most of the time I happen to be heartbroken and single so I gravitate more towards his other records. like Froggie said, 'Wedding Song' is awesome! its like 'Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands' little sister.
  12. I think I'm the only person who likes 'Magick.' its a fun song that's very catchy and fulla pop-y goodness.
  13. I've been thinking the same thing! my new fav. song off the set is 'Most of the Time' off of disc 1. like someone else mentioned, I myself have totally looked right over "Oh Mercy" for years thinking it was overproduced, etc, but its actually pretty good!
  14. hopefully they'll play "Glad It's Over" but not with the sappy ending part. they can replace that with a nifty Nels solo.
  15. its on the RAA main site's jukebox under playlist #5. its the last song on the playlist called WCRD. wish I could link directly but I can't..
  16. also, he wrote a song where he name drops RAA and everyone on the board flipped.
  17. lol, look at the people in the back just kinda looking off into space not knowing if it was a joke or not.
  18. Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata." haven't listened to this in ages and found an old vinyl copy at Goodwill. its some good stuff.
  19. he'd at least make for an interesting character in the show, like Jack's long-lost twin bro seperated at birth. anyone keeping up with the unfolding events at RAA? I do feel bad for the guy tho and hope all is well with everything soon.
  20. after the Foggy deletion, someone renamed it Flakey, but then it was taken down again... wow, this RA drama is better than watching Lost.
  21. sounds likes he's ticked that no one in the band cares that he's sick, be it band members/ crew. its strange to think how many people get their paychecks solely based on his performances and when he can't play due to illness, people likely get pissed. anyways, this is bad news for everyone involved but people need to understand that artists are humans too and aren't perfect, get sick, etc... hope the guy gets better soon.
  22. it doesn't sound that rushed to me. the only song I'm having a hard time following is "Sink Ships" while the others are pretty good. that song shows such potential until he gets into the "this position is not open now for applicants, the application forms got shredded, etc..." I guess if you're into rating albums and such, I would place "Cardinology" in between "CR" and "ET" in terms of everything the record has to offer. my new favorite song, which has gone from "Fix It," to "Magick," to "Cobwebs," to "Crossed Out Name," is "Born Into A Light." dang, Adams is such a great writer as well as
  23. I think the album sounds pretty good. I can relate to a lot of his lyrics so that might have something to do with it. its kinda hard to rate this in comparison to his other albums as it takes some time for me to get the "feel" for the record. as time rolls by, my fav. DRA record constantly changes. this sounds absurd, but I just "got" "Gold" the other day, haha. so, we'll see what this one does in the future. by the way, "Crossed Out Name" is such a wonderful tune. the acoustic version on Foggy does the studio version very little justice. the whole sound quality issue might have something t
