  1. 4 songs in right now im absolutely loving it...was really worried when that porn star video came out for money maker but this is sweet
  2. elipses aside, this is a cool cover regardless of how many albums AF have released wasnt krist last seen running for some sort of public office in washington state?
  3. Pretty sweet deal I guess. I saw Bob in the fall, it felt to me like the show was more about literally seeing Bob than hearing him play.
  4. i would take elvis over bob these days without a doubt. he has a few headlining shows lined up including a few with some orchestras.
  5. nice shot, my apartment is about 200 feet behind the person who took that picture
  6. i am not much of a hip-hop afficionado and this is just my opinion as a casual rap fan but i would agree with your friend. nobody can argue the importance of early rap but when it comes down to it, a lot beats are pretty weak and a lot of MCs sort of just sound the same. as time went on rappers each found a more personal style and i agree that lyrics and production are just of higher quality in the "93-97" era
  7. ill be buying the kanye album...if not for Stronger and its super cool album art work
  8. hmm i liked that clip...blancett was pretty convincing id say i am really excited for both the movie and soundtrack
  9. all the writing on the headstocks are backwards...reversed
  10. umm ok...like i said, all that i was pointing out is that RS has been like this for quite some time now, i am well aware that the magazine has been around for more than 10 years
  11. side note: Dr. Dog and Dinosaur Jr. would be an awesome show. Sorry to all who had tix, I would be super upset right now.
  12. For sure. I am well aware of how important RS used to be and its influence and presence at the time (I dont personally remember) but that doesn't really have anything to do with what I was saying. I was just saying that RS featuring people like Zac Efron on the cover is nothing new.
  13. wow cool album art whens the release date on that one?
  14. RS is a magazine about pop culture not just music. It has always been that way. There are a lot of people, I would say even a majority of the people in this country, would enjoy R. Kelly's new CD a lot more than the New Pornos cd (i think the new pornos cd is awesome but thats just me). Every once in a while someone complains about how shitty RS is. If you haven't noticed, its been pretty much the same magazine for at least the past 10 years. They have a lot of good stuff in there but they also have a lot of bullshit. Its a cheap magazine that comes out every two weeks. I'd say just enjoy it i
  15. i dont think anyones gonna deny that
  16. he also did this at the newport folk fest i believe...if i recall correctly it was nothing special and garth's keyboard was mixed to an almost inaudible level anyway...but the concept is awesome
  17. yeah i hope they pick me... ...fucking doosh bag nazis
  18. i think they're going to play "its just that simple"
  19. oh i forgot this one: I was working for Thom Yorke's record label last summer and was at Radiohead's Theatre@Madison Square Garden show handing out stickers for Yorke's solo album. I'm going up the line handing out stickers and all of the sudden in front of me is DMC (Darryl McDaniel of Run-DMC) and various members of his family. I offer him a Thom Yorke sticker, he asks me who this is and I try to explain. He then proceeds to hand me a post-card promoting his new album and tells me he'll buy the Thom Yorke album if I buy his, I said this was a fair deal. Turns out he was on his way to a WNB
