Frank Turner - Photosynthesis Well I guess I should confess that I am starting to get old All the latest music fads all passed me by and left me cold All the kids are talking slang I won't pretend to understand All my friends are getting married, mortgages and pension plans And it's obvious my angry adolescent days are done And I'm happy and I'm settled in the person I've become But that doesn't mean I'm settled up and sitting out the game Time may change a lot but some things may stay the same And I won't sit down And I won't shut up And most of all I will not grow up

Hollee shit is this guy great? Saw him on Tuesday and it was pretty incredible. He even did Watermark - the Weakerthans' tune. One of the cute things was that during the sing along to 'Photosynthesis' he invited all the people who knew the chorus to help all the people who didn't (meaning me). We made this scrum of instant and new friends singing along a couple feet from the stage. It was a crowded and sweaty night.

Eric Burden and (some of the) Animals at a Scarborough dive bar in the Mid-eighties. Maybe 25 people there and he put on a great show. I was kinda worried he would keel over. -

I sure do. Dave and Troy are good friends, Allison actually works there as does Blair, of Olenka and the Autumn Lovers. And we had Gavin and Company through last week. shot with my handy Blurberry: Daughter is on the right with the 'Gawd, stop that' face at about 2 minutes into North Dakota.

Squeezbox. It is a fookin brilliant thing. I've got 2, the Duet hooked up to the Rotel pre-amp and then the Boom portable stereo version in the kitchen. An Ipod touch can be used as a remote and again, the whole concept is a thing of beauty. http://www.logitechsqueezebox.com/ I would love to get the 'Transporter' to fit with the rest of the low end audio-phile stuff, but probably won't. Nicest thing is being able to turn the boom off in the kitchen from the Ipod, yell at a family member, and then turn it back up. Still have a number of docks in the house, but will probably e

What are you thinking about this. I've made it once through and it's pretty rough. Free, but rough. Loved Coyotes.

Kalle - do you know my friend Allison Brown? I know you've relocated to Ottawa, but she she was up in Sudbury for a good part of the summer. This is she: http://radio3.cbc.ca/bands/Allison-Brown and I love this: 'skag on the slag' so to speak.

good lists. My number one would still be Greg Cartwright. Talented guy.

Kalle - congrats! that is great news,. Gavin and company are in town next week, so I'll mention that Kalle Masterson is an internet friend. Trying to get an instore together for Nov 24th, but it may not happen. Also - I had Mark Browning and Ox in last week. I booked them and had to actually miss the instore, but heard they were great. We had 30 people out, which for a here is an excellent turnout. Didn't know anything about the Donovan and Cosmic Daves guitar and record emporium. I'll have to visit on the next Killarney/Panache Kayak trip. and I was worried that Donna did not enjoy TW

It's really excellent. Reason for pulling it out is that Andre and the Sadies are playing the horseshoe next week and it looks like i will be in town for it.
