  1. That noise section in "where do I begin" is kinda killing me right now. Oof.
  2. I think I'm gonna put track #1 on for when my husband walks in the door from work in about 3 minutes Also, y'all are gonna think I'm full of shit, but this morning I said to my husband, "I bet the new record is really soon" because the email about the poster book said to keep our eyes and ears peeled.
  3. I was totally about to say something similar.
  4. There's a local 1800 seat venue in town and I write them every week to book wilco. I hope they do it this time. It'd be nice not to have to drive 2 hours or more to see Wilco one time.
  5. i'm having a hard time deciphering "more"
  6. lil bit. but, maybe they'll tour heavily in the fall.
  7. I hope there's a tote bag.
  8. i think after one more listen on my big speakers I'm gonna switch to my headphones and try to start deciphering lyrics. tabs for this record are gonna be a bitch.
  9. Yeah. that's for sure. super sad.
  10. Do we know what time they play? I gotta watch the stream now, because they might debut some of these new tunes!
  11. my only complaint is it is too short.
  12. I'm in awe. Today has been seriously fucked up for my city, and I've been sort of zombified reading the news all day, and this is just amazing.
  13. I've never really been a fan of the GD, but for some reason I've read a lot of this thread and found it super interesting. How does a person even start to tackle a band's discography such as the GD? My dad played their (I suppose I should say "an") acoustic record (cos they probably have more than 1) a lot when I was a kid.
  14. Yeah, the Tweedy 00-DB is amazing. I bought one back last fall and it's the best guitar I've ever played. The one they had for auction at SS was special just for SS. I got to look at Jeff's model that he uses as a bus practice guitar, and it didn't look any different than the one I have, though the one he uses on stage might be different. It's truly a magnificent instrument. I just wish I was a better finger picker.
  15. Wow y'all are really thinking about this. I guess I'm not as deep, but I felt like TWL was quite a bit different from W(TA). Both sonically and lyrically. And didn't Pat produce several tunes on that record too? Maybe he arranged strings or something? I'll be happy with whatever they put out, honestly.
  16. As an over-singer as well, I concur with your statements. No regrets. I sang so much on Friday I didn't have voice when I woke up Saturday. In my mind that means you're doing it right. I got really tickled that John and Jeff smiled at me when I screamed at the appropriate moment during "we've been had" too. I think TweedyzGirl orchestrated that whole thing a long long time ago, and I've just kept up with the tradition.
  17. Absolutely. have we gotten so bored we gotta complain about how long people clap? I feel like those of us that were down front showed appreciation accordingly. I don't think there's any entitlement if a person doesn't clap. If you want to clap til you bleed, ok, but chastising others for not clapping just seems silly.
  18. Maybe it had to do with how cold/rainy it was, also? I for one was feeling pretty miserable by the time the show was over. I mean I still screamed and howled when they left the stage.... I felt like we were all enthusiastic down front, but whatever. The encore didn't happen cos of weather 100%.
  19. Sunday was worse for me in terms of terrible behavior than the other 2 days, though most of it was the hipster invasion of rail space during the Feliece bros. those folks were just mean. I have a hard time moving through crowds keeping my balance, and I was trying to get back to my husband and this lady said something to the effect of "go around, gimpy bitch" when I said excuse me to try to get by her. It was kinda sad.
  20. Also random, but somebody came up to me at the fest- maybe during the drum thing, and said hey,I know you from the board, and I was totally distracted about something else, and didn't really say a lot, if the guy it was sees this, sorry if I came across as rude! I really wasn't trying to be, I was super distracted about something.
  21. I'm with you on the smoking thing, 100%. It was super obnoxious. Security told these kids during the Feliece Bros. to knock it off, but they didn't give a shit and kept smoking anyway. The drunks were ridiculous.... Cheap beer is not always a good thing. It almost ruined Sunday for me the way some people around me were behaving. i think maybe some of it had to do with those people not really being there 100% for wilco, at least where I was, because most of them left right as soon as Mac demarco and Feliece bros were done. Agree with you also about the weather in the evenings especially i
  22. I heard the Breakfast With Wilco interview Friday morning, and Jeff said there will be a new record by the end of the year. I'm betting late fall. Especially because there was a pause in the interview where Jeff looked over to the PR people to see if he could say something.
  23. Lol. In the photo of the drum orchestra I'm yawning. Jeez. (I only slept maybe 10 hours over Fri, Sat and Sun... our hotel situation was terrible...
  24. I got to drum with Glenn also, and it was such a blast. He is such a nice guy, and man it was fun to work with him! Earlier in the morning on Sunday, my friend and I saw him in Courtyard D, and he stopped for a second and said "hey! how's it going, bandmates!" That piece was so cool too. There's video on youtube too.
