Edie
Been thinking about you, girl. Yay for cold fronts, however short lived. Â Yes, 95+ degrees for 5 days in a row made the place pretty unlivable. Mom's on the otherhand.... cool as a cucumber

Mr. Kinsley
Dang! They have so much hair! Those two are adorable. They do sort of have that look in their eyes that says, "Yeah, we're cute now - but wait until you see all the hell we're gonna raise in our teens and twenties!"

Basil II
In episode 2019, Windom Earle enjoys a private revelry. His soliloquy tells an interesting tale: "Once upon a time, there was a place of great goodness, called the White Lodge. Gentle fawns gamboled there amidst happy, laughing spirits. The sounds of innocence and joy filled the air. And when it rained, it rained sweet nectar that infused one's heart with a desire to live life in truth and beauty. "Generally speaking, a ghastly place, reeking of virtue's sour smell. Engorged with the whispered prayers of kneeling mothers, mewling newborns, and fools, young and old, compelled to do good without reason. "But, I am happy to point out that our story does not end in this wretched place of saccharine excess. For there's another place, its opposite: a place of almost unimaginable power, chock full of dark forces and vicious secrets. No prayers dare enter this frightful maw. Spirits there care not for good deeds or priestly invocations. They are as likely to rip the flesh from your bone as greet you with a happy 'Good day!' "And if harnessed, these spirits in this hidden land of unmuffled screams and broken hearts would offer up a power so vast that its bearer might reorder the earth itself to his liking! This place I speak of is known as the Black Lodge. And I intend to find it."   I await paitently for the DVD release of "Twin Peaks" Season II.....Thanks so much for the flash back!!!  --Robert. embiggen
3 great ways to start the morning: 1:30 am - husband comes in to tell me some not so good news, which isn't true in the first place 3:30 - have to get up and clean cat puke 6:00 - coffee maker doesn't work anymore  :hmm :hmm
viatroy
damn Jess ... I don't have a husband to bear bad news, true or not, and my coffee pot is alive and well, but my cat left me a barely-alive mouse which I stepped on as I got out of bed. The mouse escaped under the dresser, but the cat delivered it to me, newly dead, two minutes later.  On the good news front, my spiritual advisor told me that as a matrilineal Jew, I'm a shoe-in for heaven, rapture or not. M. (hristine
I took a nap late yesterday, fell asleep at 10, and slept in till 6:30. Running and swimming during the day makes this old lady tired. I want to nibble the sweet baby cheeks of those ElF progeny.
cryptique
The comfy chairs arrive this morning!  That is why I am not yet at work -- the dreaded "three-hour delivery window." The best part of this will be the permanent banishment of the uncomfortable-as-all-hell couch that I loathe. Personally, I believe that couch is largely to blame for the surgery I had earlier this year.
