Although my cousin sent many photos of various hooved mammals from Jellystone, I am opting to post one of the many hot springs (174 degrees of hot!) found in the park.

At first I thought I was high or something, but no, there really is a giant Mickey Mouse outside my window, peering at me from above the trees.

wow, those hot springs photos are phenomenal. I love the colors......I have never seen anything like it. I have seen pics of the geysers but not the hot springs. I think I definitely need to go there now!

It's been thirty years since I've been to Yellowstone (I was not quite 8 years old), but I remember those hot springs like I saw them yesterday. The colors really are amazing, and the smell of sulfur makes it seem like another planet. Away from the springs, the rest of the park is incredibly beautiful.

 

I've heard that things have changed a lot since I was there in '76 (mostly in terms of increased traffic and crowds). Hopefully it's still as beautiful as it ever was.
