CalebMac
I thought he was going by The Artist Formerly Known As Jay Bennett
WilcoFan
Me too. I never got to see Wilco with Jay Bennett, but he's so ultra talented and he contributed so much to their greatness and what they turned into that I feel like I really missed out. Yeah. When Jay played with Wilco it seemed like every show was one for the ages.

Sir Stewart
I liked seeing Wilco live with Jay Bennett because Jeff and Jay wrestled during Outta Site and I got excited.
oceanman
I just wish his role in wilco was playing keys,he took the whole guitar rock star thing too far.I bet he has nightmares about Nels.
MunkyKayse
I liked seeing Wilco live with Jay Bennett because Jeff and Jay wrestled during Outta Site and I got excited. Is there a video of that somewhere?
ginandcigarettes
Drunk? Don't mind if I do. I tend to think that Jay was perfect for rock Wilco but I can't imagine him fitting in with new Wilco. Though, he would go a long way towards giving "Is That the Thanks I Get" the groove supply it so desperately needs. Um, when did MunkyKayse get so hot? I'm totally in love now. MunkyKayse
here: jay and ken in 2006?? http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?...65-b0c42f2af50b Dear God! I wouldn't want that coming after me in the middle of the night! (sorry. love the music. maybe it was just shot at a bad angle.) Um, when did MunkyKayse get so hot? I'm totally in love now. Dunno about that...think this album cover (Jay with his Epiphone Texan) would have worked if he was holding up a keytar?
Mr. Heartbreak
Is that him singing "It's Too Late" on his myspace page? Too weird...
aricandover
For some reason I chuckled when I noticed on Jay's Myspace page that he has 2184 friends. I can imagine Jay looking at this every day to feel good about himself. Jay's manager runs that site. I doubt Jay ever looks at it.

Adam2
you must be joking. jay bennett is responsible for bringing the keyboards into Wilco's sound, as well as co-writing many of their greatest songs. not to mention the role he played as multi-instrumentalist and producer. i am really sick of people bashing jay. someone hear once said that when anybody bashes jay, all's you have to do is mention that he co-wrote a large portion of Jesus, Etc. i bet that'll shut you all up. MWB
Alright, that may have been a bit of an exaggeration, as I've been drinking and was just listening to a live version of Ashes with Nels, but yeah, I think at this point, I personally enjoy what Nels has brought to the band more than what Jay brought to the band. adjason
Nels does bring some great guitar work but there is no question that Jays influence on wilco was huge.

Adam2
Jay co-wrote a lot of the songs on YHF. As for the keyboards, I agree sometimes he got carried away, but like Stirratt said, Summerteeth was overdone but in a beautiful way. To be honest I think it is kind of ridiculous that Jay was fired. If they had a problem with him taking on too many roles, they should have just talked to him and settle it. It just seems to me like a relationship of about 8 years ended for a dumb reason. Of course I know nothing that happened before his departure... maybe they did talk to him.
