quarter23cd
I was buzzed off my ass at the 9:30 club and yelled for Sunken Treasure. he blew me off.I was buzzed off my ass a couple years ago at the Poughkeepsie, NY show and yelled out for "Sunken Treasure" and my friend reminded me they had just played it like 2 songs ago, so then I yelled out "Sorry, I meant 'Misunderstood'!!") I don't think Jeff heard me and, sadly, this moment didn't get captured on the recording of the show that I've heard.

aricandover
I yelled "The High Heat" at a previous show. he didn't say anything just got a WTF? look on his face. wow, you rebel. you're 100 times cooler than than the people who yell for "Casino Queen" and "Passenger Side"
stratoman
I yelled for "Windfall" and for "Route" before. He was, to put it midly, a bit befuddled. That was until other people started yelling for Uncle Tupelo stuff, so the person next to me and I started to combine songs. We were yelling for songs like "Via Medicine Hat", "I am trying to break your 6-string belief", and "Heavy Metal Whiskey Bottle." He smiled at that one.

jhc
I yelled for Hey Chicken at a solo show and got the weird look. He did it at the living room show, why not for me? He didn't really even do it at the LR show.
OOO
He didn't really even do it at the LR show. yeah i know, and this solo show was before that LR show AND before the release of Born Again in the USA, so i understand his funny look. But the album had been leaked, so what does he expect?
mascis
I yell for anything they don't play at every show, which seems to be 90 % the same songs. I guess they cater to the locals rather than people who see more than one show in a year. As many times I've heard shot in the arm, I'm a bit tired of hearing it, couldn't they be tired of playing it?
aricandover
I guess they cater to the locals rather than people who see more than one show in a year. that's exactly what they do. the majority of the people at those shows are probably pretty happy about it. Umstedd
Jeff was taking audience requests one night at The Vic and he picked me out. I thought I'd be bold and ask him to play "If That's Alright". He quickly responded- "That's not alright." I thought to myself- way to really f- that up.The next night he played Gun and I yelled at him to "sing it high" because he was using a capo to play it in a lower key and he acted like it was kind of dragging. And, by god, he played it high. That motor boatin sob...one of the coolest musical nights ever.
