Scalzunfield
What is the one Tweedy song from ANY band or project he's done that you would use if a person said: "Gimme one reason this guy's music is so special to you." I'll give this a week, maybe longer, and then add up the totals on it. I want to see what you all feel. Keep in mind, any song of Jeff's will work: (Mermaid Ave, Wilco, UT, Minus 5 contributions, Golden Smog, Odd Job Jack, etc.) I'll start: Jesus, etc.
Sir Stewart
I'll finish: Jesus, etc.

Pocahontas
I would say Heavy Metal Drummer, anyone who was a teenager in the late 70's early 80's could relate listening to a Kiss coverband.
mountain bed
This is going to make my head explode...too hard. OK,since there's already a few votes for Poor Places,I'll vote for Ashes of American Flags.
H to the ickle
Wow, hard question... Nothing Up My Sleeve, it's a little more direct than most of his other songs but I think if you boil down a lot of Tweedy's songs to their base, Nothing Up My Sleeve is it. Guest Rufer
Gun. Especially if the inquisitor in question was 24 years old or less. Which I am not.
bleedorange
I'm not trying to pick a fight here, but is any Mermaid Avenue song really valid for this discussion? I mean, I think an integral component of Tweedy's music is his lyrics and none of those songs would offer that. Right now, I think I would go with Misunderstood. That's usually my litmus-test song when exposing new listeners to Wilco.
