Calexico
Anyone here into Ferry and his boys? Early/late Roxy? Can't stand them? I have been given a complete discography of their albums by a friend who was moving overseas. Pretty good listening. I had never really delved into their albums as such, knowing them as a singles band really.
wheelco
I always liked "For Your Pleasure", which includes Do the Strand, In Every Dreamhome a Heartache and If There Is Something
M. (hristine
Roxy is great, but this is one of the first LPs I replaced with a CD:

froggie
i've only heard their main singles and done mind them. however, Avalon stands as one of my favourite songs of all time (lemme guess, the hardcore fans hate it?)
pnêyu
however, Avalon stands as one of my favourite songs of all time (lemme guess, the hardcore fans hate it?)I'm not a hardcore fan, but I agree with you on "Avalon." The beauty of Flesh and Blood (for me, anyway) is that it has a lot of the sounds that the band would perfect on Avalon.

ms. yvon
my favorite is "Siren"from "end of the line" to "just another high" this is terrific stuff. and i will attest to the casbah-rockin-ess of the bbc sessions pneyu found. AWESOME. to kick off your roxy-spree, you may want to check out the dvd of their show at the Apollo from a few years ago. it will give you a good overview. this show (tour!) was mind-blowing. (unintentional nod to "every dreamhome a heartache" there... ) i know these posters are holding back. you will find some rampant roxy-love on this board.

Mr. Heartbreak
I got turned on to them around 1984 or '85 by the same friend who introduced me to Brian Eno's solo stuff. Those were some great people: Bryan Ferry, Eno, Phil Manzanera ... I've always loved Country Life and the Greatest Hits package, especially Love Is The Drug, All I Want Is You, Out of the Blue, and, one of my all time favorites, A Song For Europe. Oh, and Mother of Pearl (which I once put on a mix tape entitled "All The Songs That Ever Mattered." )
